i had a rubbish night last night didnt get a wink of sleep so i am really shattered
have to go back to c doctor friday morning as he is keepin an close eye on me tho i was hopin i might b feelin a bit better as im goin away for the week on saturday but dont think ive got athe energy to go

im still not feelin too good i just wish i would stop feelin dizzy all the time and im still not sleepin ive had 2 nights with no sleep,

im going away for the week on saturday hoping the break will do me gud and help me relax abit so i wont b around next week

Travel safely Tinkers, don't forget to take your medication with you. The current side effects should ease off. I hope the break will help, we'll be thinking of you.

Have a good break, try and relax and, as Mary says, don't forget tot ake your medication. Maybe your doctor can give you something to counteract the dizziness caused by your medication, just short term. :-)

Does anyone on here take Sertraline tabs.

Hi Ann I take 40ml citalopram, a lot of us are on that drug. Someone else could be on sertraline though. I'd bet Mary knows about it. (She was a nurse).

Tinkers if you need help in the short term for your holiday ask your Dr for some diazapam. It's relaxing. And ok in the short term. Did you look for the rescue remedy in boots yet? It's non addictive and in bach flower remedy section. We swear by it on here. When I first started to feel ill, I though alsorts, gas poisoning from the fire, flu, cancer! People don't realise the energy it takes feeling so tense with worry!

Been in the garden today tidying up the boarders, it smells of dog wee !

We used to live in the Crescent Alverstoke when first married Tinkers (60s) and Stokes Bay was a favourite haunt.

But, going further back, my Father's aunt (his father's sister) had a hut at Stokes Bay and I have photos taken in the 20s/30s of a whole family group of both my parents' Mothers, siter etc outside the hut.

My Gt Gt Grandparents married and all their children were born in Gosport (Forton).

Are you local to there now?

well ive been to c my doctor and he says i have to keep on wiv these new pills and the dizzines is one side affect and that i have to giv these pills a chance grrrrrr

he did say it was deppression i am sufferin from but isnt going to treat that just yet as i need to sort out my other health problems first ie my asthma, heart etc crikey there r that many i dunno where to start lol

Oh yes I know about sertraline (known here as brand name Zoloft). A good drug, like all the others, some just work better for some people, depends on your own body makeup. For example, our doctor put Megan on Zoloft a couple of years ago. Megan is 41 y/o, she has multiple learning disabilities, therefore is a bit challenged, with big anxiety issues. Has panic attacks etc where she loses consciousness. The doc put her on Zoloft, believing there were both depression and anxiety components (her fiance had taken off with a girl who was now pregnant and left Megan holding the ring). Though it got her out of her room, the Zoloft made her manic, she never stopped talking for 3 days, up most of the night then slept 2 hours. Though it is VERY effective for most people, it wasn't for her. Not to scare you, just to increase awareness, that just because it's a good drug, doesn't necessarily mean it's the best one for you.
I have been on many drugs over the years, due to my current age some of them are probably no longer on the market LOL. Phenobarb, Melleril, Valium, Librium, Elavil, Ativan, Xanax, Prozac. I remember when I started on Prozac (fluoxetine), I literally slept for the first 10 days, just up for water and bathroom, it eventually made me feel SO much better and back in control, but after several years, and as Prozac's popularity decreased in some circles, I was switched to citalopram (Celexa) which is prob the best thus far.

my o/h is on sertraline and I'm not sure it is doing him any good. he was on citalopram but our doc took him of it as he was getting very bad headaches.The headaches are all sorted now but dont think it was down to the citalopan.his general moods etc were so much better when he was on citalopan I wonder if it is worth asking the doc to put him back on it.

My sister still lives in Fareham so we do get to know the local news. My parents also lived there, my Mother until she died in Haslar aged 85 and my Father died in a residential home in Lee aged 93.

Keep on with the medication and hopefully your body will soon adjust.

Hi Ann, re Zoloft, if his moods are less stable and generally not feeling "right" I would personally ask for him to try back on the citalopram. As I mentioned before some are just better for some people and not for others. The stable mood is a huge issue for those affected in this way, on the 'wrong' drug, one can become very volatile.
