Hi Derek I think you may well be right with my dreaded family lol. I cannot get some of the names to link wher I am almost positive they should.

Bloomin hard work indeed. A thoroughly boring game til the last shoot out. I actually almost nodded off while it was on.

Derek

It's me again! Here's a new one for you please, as I am now reseaching tree of my daughter's intended husband - just need to check him out a bit first!

According to IGI, John Twigg had 3 chidlren christened at Earl Sterndale - Joseph 23/11/1800, Mary 14/1/1803 and Benjamin 27/10/1805. The latter two have mother Judith. Can you find a likely marriage of John Twigg and a Judith?

Many thanks

Margaret

HI Derek,me and my awful lot again lol.

I am trying to find details of a marriage between Abraham Measham Parker born 1831 (stepbrother to Thomas Horatio Measham) to first wife Ann ? who he was with on 1861 census in Repton .

Hi Margaret..sorry to keep you waiting....

JOHN TWIGG married JUDITH SLEIGH 29.06.1785
I think you can assume all the children were theirs. The first:
JOSEPH 23.11.1800....shows only John....but that means nothing because the early baptisms only showed one parent.

You might like to know that MARY 14.01.1803 was the seconf child of that name born to Judith and John......the first Mary was baptised 08.07.1792 but died a few months old and was buried 10.03.1793

Can confirm BENJAMIN 27.10.1805..and one you don't have!...SAMUEL 18.02.1787..their first child. I've a feeling.unconfirmed that he also died young....because the family moved from Sterndale to Cronkstone, where the later children were born.
Just found WILLIAM 30.08.1789...the first child born Cronkstone
Worth waiting for?? lolol

Derek.

Hi Derek,

Not sure if you can help me with this one...

I have a Lydia Winchester bc 1792-1796 in Derby Cheshire ?? ( from 1851 census and her sister Mary Winchester bc 1784-1791 in Derby Cheshire ???..

This info comes from the 1841 and 1851 census, both in St Martin Leicestershire. If possible I would like to find the girls parents. Neither girl marries and they die 1859 and 1858 in Leicestershire.

Look forward to hearing from you....

Cheers.

Hi Derek,

Tks for getting back to me...

My info on these two ladies is brief. But I have been researching the Winchester family from Chesterfield for several months, and you have been good enough to find some info for me. My first request was for cfm of info on Samuel Winchester bc 1771 and Elizabeth Morely bc 1776, and their daughter Julia bc 1796. All the info I have appears to come from the St Mary and All saints area of Chesterfield. The name Lydia Winchester pops up all the time in the families I have found. On the 1841 census Lydia and Mary have a "Elizabeth Harley' bc 1841 staying with them ,who happens to be the daughter of Julia Winchester and her husband Henry Harley , who also have a dau Lydia and one named Mary Harley. I am convinced there is a connection but cannot join the dots.

I am about to ask Mike of Leicester fame to view parish records on death of Mary and Lydia to see if I can get more info...

Cheers.

Good morning Karen...now i remember...I'll have a good look at the Chesterfield registers when i go to Matlock..probably next week.
One tip..on 1841 census...Morley and Harley are likely to be the same name...mistranscription...xx
