There must be foods that you like, but not together?

......and I dont mean ice cream and chips

I love fresh bread and cheese too Ginns BUT, I like to eat it as chunks of bread smothered in butter and chunks of cheese !

I think it is a question of balance ! - If you put the cheese in the bread you can't have the same amount of butter and the cheese if usually cut smaller !

If you have them seperately you can have a couple of bites of one and then a bite of the other and you can taste both ! ;-)

Dea

Dea Report 28 Sep 2012 18:36

YYuuuukkk !!! - NO!! - I don't like Olives !

When I worked in Spain they always used to give you a huge dish of them for free when you bought a drink in the bar - my passengers were delighted but I could never get the taste for them !

Luckily I could speak the language and persuade them to give me fresh almonds instead ;-)

Dea

Dea Report 28 Sep 2012 21:09

Funny that - I am 'lergic' to cucumbers but I like gherkins which I think are really baby cucumbers ?????????

It must be like the Prawns that I can't eat but I could eat 'prawn cocktail' years ago BUT, I think they were actually shrimps ???

Good morning and thank you Sylvs. <3

It's looking quite bright and sunny here so, hopefully, it will be a good drying day :-D

Not sure if gherkins are baby cucumbers Dea, but I think they may be cousins :-D

I'm not really a 'fishy' person but like prawns (not the King size) and shrimps.

When we used to go on holiday to my grandparents in Kent, we used to go to Margate and other seaside resorts and bring shrimps home for tea. They were gorgeous and we used to have them with brown bread and butter.

My parents taught me how to hold the head and the tail and bite the middle out
:-D

I remember being very poorly one year and now, with hindsight, wonder if it was the shrimps to blame :-(

Hope everyone has a good day ~~~~

I love almost any kind of seafood, fish, shellfish etc.

Not too fond of eels or squid.

The only shrimp we used to be able to buy when I was growing up was potted shrimp, only one fishmonger carried it, but they almost always had. They used to scoop the amount you wanted out of a brown pottery dish.

C ......

.. it could well have been the shrimp.

Shrimp and prawns both go off VERY quickly
