I have just received reminder from GR that my subscription needs renewing. I cancelled the auto renew cos I was thinking about quitting GR - but the email offered 20% discount - so I thought, just once more, why not......

I followed the link to renew and the website offered me 6 months for £15 - I currently pay £7.96.

£15 - 20% or £3 = £12
£7.96 - 20% or £1.59 = £6.37

GR's 'special offer' in fact doubles my subs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have emailed them to explain - although I dont think I shall hold my breath for either a reply or a reply that makes any sense!!!

So...I may be disappearing in about 10 days!!! [but I shall see you all on FB anyway! :-D]

It's called 'addiction' Lainie!!! :-D

I am freezing! Was fine until I went into the small Asda a couple of miles away. It was like walking into an ice house! brrrrrr reckon their freezers are blowing far too much cold air out. One of the assistants mentioned it too. Have put my cosy fleece on............................

Dea Report 29 Sep 2012 16:31

Don't go Laines !!! - just tell them that you want your 'old membership back please' !!!

Cynthia - I know what you mean!

I shop in my local Morrisons and the chiller isles are SO cold !!!!!

Even on a hot summers day (if anyone can remember one of them ;-) ) I always put some socks on and a coat because otherwise I would freeze!!

It's silly really because it is SO cold down there that I almost run through ! - I would probably buy more if I was able to browse!

Lainie

I would wait until it runs out (thats what I do)

You should be paying £7.96 which is 20% off of £9.95....but if you got discount 6 months ago they may not give it again??

Last time I turned my auto renew off they told me I would have to pay £34.95. which was what I paid when I first joined in 2010....anyway I clicked subscribe at the top of the page once it had run out and I was offered £7.96

went downtown for retail therapy ................. bought some more tops from the store that is closing...........

.......... the most expensive one cost me just under $20 (ca £8), and that was a "this season's (fall/winter)" long sleeved turtle neck by the Liz Claiborne company ........ and should have been $60 :-D

Most of them ended up costing me around $5-6 each

What I would love to know is why I couldn't find any of these summer tops when I was out in the spring looking for some new white or beige or cream tops. The only ones I could find then were all ruffley and flow-ey ................... which is just so not me!

According to the weather report on the TV news this evening .............. Tuesday, which is the day to work at the cabin, will be sunny up there.

It will also be about 9C during the day, dropping down to 2C at night

That means the area where the cabin is will quite possibly be freezing over night :-D

Thank goodness, we're staying in a hotel in town :-D

although it can be quite fun being up there when it is cold overnight ..........

........ we get the place warm with the wood stove during the evening, load up the stove just before bed, and shut the damper so it will burn slowly.

Even if no-one adds any wood during the night, the ashes are still hot enough in the morning to start the fire with only a little bit of kindling.

AND, the bed was cozy and warm!!

Good morning and thank you Sylvs. I have my eye on that creme brulee for later :-D

After my 'chilly' experience in Asda yesterday, I certainly don't fancy the thought of freezing overnight temperatures........a hotel certainly sounds the better option to me. Enjoy! <3

The cooking of Sunday lunch is already underway here.......see you later ~~~~~
