Hi all
xxx

heavy heavy rain today!

got OH to come home, and take me to physio. Then I met him afterwards in a coffee shop, so he could bring me home.

I always ache a lot when we get these very wet days :-(

Had the physio in fits of laughter a couple of times.

The first was when he was congratulating me on the weight I've lost, and then he asked what diet I was doing, and whether OH was also losing weight "although he doesn't need to" (physio has treated him).

Said that OH was not following the diet and "he puts at least 4 spoonfuls of sugar in his coffee" :-0

Physio almost choked.

Second time, we were talking about our property up north, and I remembered to tell him about a "happening" in the small town.

For the third fall in a row, an elk turned up in late September, in the pasture of a ranch right on the edge of town, next to the major highway. He was very happy there with the cows.

BUT this year, one of the cows came on heat earlier this month (October), and that got the elk VERY excited

The resulting events made it into the major newspaper down here.

They were going at it several times a day ............... people were stopping on the highway to watch (and marvel).

The ranch owner did contact a scientist at the northern university to ask if there could be "offspring". The answer was NO ............... elk have 6 more chromosomes than cows.

More and more people were stopping to watch, even doing U-turns across the highway.

Finally, hunters were stopping, and taking their guns out of the cars with them

Everyone got concerned about safety ........... it is illegal to hunt within town limits, and this was just within those limits. Needless to say, some hunters pay no attention to regulations! There's always a scumbag around.

So, it was decided to move the elk.

The rancher, local wildlife conservation officers and the RCMP all combined to tranquilize the elk (using a special "rifle"), and then he was transported about 20 miles away, into the wilderness.

By the time I had got to this part, physio was sitting down, head in hands, and shoulders shaking!

It really rained hard yesterday

Poor little trick or treaters!

We had about 18 knocking at the door ............... first ones were about 6 pm, came to a halt about 7 pm, so we shut up shop. OH has taken the remaining 30 or so candy bars to the Garden this morning!

It poured all night, but is dry today ............. think it is the calm between 2 storms.

Another 30-40 mm due to fall tomorrow, to add to the 30 mm or so that fell yesterday.

Have been haring around for most of the day..... :-S

Wanted to make sure OH got some exercise so we went to a shopping complex :-D

I finally spent two Next vouchers, one of which I have had for nearly 18months. Bought a lovely clock for my bedroom and a heart shaped Christmas wreath for the front door.

Then dropped OH off at home and went to pick up my modem. Struggled upstairs with it and..........I pause to polish my halo........I set it all up myself. :-D :-
D

Quick lunch. Met daughter at Starbucks. Bought a couple of Christmas presents.

Home. Meal. Daughter home. Me home. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

We don't get them either Gins. :-D

Next 'big' thing is Bonfire night - we have kids with homemade 'guys' dotted around various shops. They don't put much effort into make the guy look real though :-(

I quite like a bonfire and firework display, but get concerned about nervous pets in the area.

Time for bed methinks. I will go and admire my new clock. :-D

Night all ~~~~~~~~~
