OH has gone to get his eyes tested, for new glasses after the cataracts have been replaced.


He's got his long vision back, but is going to get glasses that vary from reading to plain, so that he doesn't have to keep taking them on and off ........


.... and losing them!

Not been with it this week so please forgive me everyone if I have ignored/missed your comments and natter. Today, I just feel like I have a bad cold, which is an improvement on the last week

Tammy arrived from NY last night, was supposed to be meeting up today but there is no way I can go to meet her and sis, I am still infectious :-(

Friday gang are coming tonight, they asked if it was OK and to be quite honest, I am going stir crazy so the company will be most welcome....take away me thinks

No 2 son coming up for a cuppa later, that will be nice, he is bringing his exam results from his first year at Uni

Just going to give sis a ring, might give her daughter my laptop so she can call me on Skype, I sure as heck wont get to see her this weekend, cant risk infection, especially to the others on the ward who are on Chemo

You are right not to go to the hospital yet as you would do a lot more harm than good :-( :-( - You will be able to visit again soon.

Buddy ell....chatted to sis, she said to phone NHS Direct to ask when I will be OK and infection free

Cripes, just come off phone with them..........had a full verbal medical over the phone and waiting for a call back from a nurse to advise me

I think you will find that the nurse will err on the side of caution....but do hope you soon get rid of whatever it is you've got!!

Gins hope the nurse gives you some good news. You will still want to feel that you are over it before you visit your sister (and niece and Tammy)

Good idea re laptop/skype.

You will enjoy the gang tonight it's one thing choosing to have a lazy time it's another when you have no choice :-(

Nurse phoned me back, went through symptoms again and guess what......I hav flu, now I really can feel sorry for myself!

She said to stay away from the hospice until my coughing and sneezing has stopped, which should be in another 3-5 days

Just called JB to let him know....he has a fuzzy head and cough. The problem with him is that he is asthmatic, so if he gets it, we will have to be very careful

When I was a kid in the late 70s my best mate had glandular fever and no one would visit her or be allowed to, I did.........

............she still remembers that to this day, bless her <3

People often say they have had 'flu' but until you actually experience it you do not know what you are 'in for' !!

I had it once many years ago and couldn't get out of bed - I had to literally crawl from the bedroom to the bathroom and I distincly remember lying in bed with a cold flanel on my eyes because it felt like my eyeballs were burning - I was SO frightened to open my eyes because I was thinking that my eye balls were like 'egg whites' and they were cooking and if I opened them I would no longer be able to see 'coz they would have 'cooked' !! ........................... scarey !!!!!!!!!!!!! :-( :-( :-(

I felt like a 'naughty school girl ' today because I was summoned to appear before the headmistress at my grand-daughter's school. !

I sent an e-mail to her last year asking if she might find it appropriate to apply to the council to have a couple of 'disabled parking' spaces marked out near to the school.

She asked me in today to discuss this !! - I still felt 'very naughty' though but all went well !
