Hello Claire,
thank you for the offer
I would be grateful if you could look for the burial of
James Cameron who died on 25th Aug 1890, he was living at Quarry Row Houghton le Spring at the time, .I have his death cert but can't find where he was buried.
I can't find the death of his wife Elizabeth (Hay) at all.She was baptised in Houghton parish on 6 8 1820 (probably in Newbottle church as this is where they lived)
She was still living in Quarry Row Houghton on the 1891 census, but she is not on the 1901 and I can't find a death for her

Hi Linda
Sorry,,I couldnt find a burial for either of them,
I also had a look in Durham Records Online but nothing there either,,
I have a few mystries like this myself,,

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 27 Jun 2008 10:52

Thank you for looking Claire,
I suspect that she went to live with one of her children in one of the colliery villages near Sunderland. there are a few deaths which vaguely fit, but are not good enough to risk a cert on

May I could ask you for another look up please.
I have found on Nov 6th 1848 burial of an infant David Cameron of Newbottle, but I don't know who he is.
He must be one of mine, but his baptism isn't there.
There is a David who belongs to my couple who was baptised on
30 OCT 1850 Newbottle (submitted record),maybe he was a replacement for the first one.
There is a gap in the children between Peter bap Jun 1844 and Mary 1848, so this may be where the infant David fits in
