Hello Jan, thank you for that. I have been in touch with the Tarbat discovery centre and they tried hard to help but have had no luck. This seems more like an iron curtain than a brick wall. Thank you once again for your interest

Jan I wish I had some way of proving that Donald and Kate are the correct people, I have a good feeling about them but cannot be sure, yes I think that was one of their sons, thanks for your interest

The first one is Kate and Rev Donald MacLeods,who we believe to be of Dianes family,he was brother to Ishbel and Donald..but Norman is not theirs,but is related somehow,but I cant remember how at the moment.

This morning I received a letter from the Probate Office.

We have received your search request and undertaken the search for you and our records show that Confirmation was made in Scotland,which was resealed in England and Wales.
Unfortunately the Probate Service no longer keeps copies of resealed Confirmations.

If the date of death was prior to 1985 please contact The Scottish Records Office..


Off to see about that now..

Spoken to the place in Scotland and the will from them is ..£20 ouch.
That includes their search fee etc.
