Hi Lorraine, could you please look up an emigration of Andrew Black Knight, he was born 30/3/1873 in Lanarkshire Scotland and went to USA about 1892, he died June 1965, he is on the 1900 census living in Lawrence Ward, Essex, Massachsetts, I cant find him on a passenger list, is it possible to find a marriage there for him as well, his wife was Jessie Robertson McKechnie, they have their first child in 1894 in New Hampshire, anything you can find out would be really helpful.

I have a George Goatman b 1840 in Wellington Hertfordshire his parents were Esther OR Hester & Emanuel Goatman. He changed his name to (James) in the 1881...why we don't know !!

I have him as far as the 1881 census then he dissapeared still living in Hertfordshire with a Emma known to be his wife although NO marriage ever took place, his previous wife died called Annie Goatman in1873.
I have tried on board to see if he went to Australia as his sister did but to no avail,
So I was thinking did he go to Canada or the USA.

Yes I have got all of that info..Thanks.

The first wife Annie committed suicide the report of her inquest states that 'she drank poison while being temporarily insane' in 1873
In 1871 census he was named as GOOTMAN living with Annie and Jessie.
in the 1881 census he was with a new wife but no marriage found for these two and also were Jessie & Felix Goatman lived , but Felix is not a Goatman hes is Emma's child prior meeting up with George who now calls himself JAMES.
Thats the last we have known his where a bouts.
Wondering if he ran away due to some unknown circumstances
Felix remained in the UK under the name of HOLLAND.

The info you found me was spot on. Basil O Rowlands was born in 1919 and he was the son of Richard D Rowlands. Richard was born 1900 in Wandsworth and he married Winifred Coy/Goldspink in 1918.

It is the Coy line I have been chasing. I like to write up in story form the family history of each branch.

Can you help me find my two aunts who emigrated to Canada. One aunt is Mary Archibald who married a Canadian soldier around 1945 In Edinburgh. His name was Peter Storeshaw. Mary went to Canada with their small daughter (also Mary) in 1950. I believe they settled in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

I have found 2 people on Facebook who could be their other children, Jim Storeshaw and Debbie O'Neill. I sent them messages but they have not replied.

The other aunt is called Beatrice Archibald born Edinburgh 1927. She followed her sister to Canada and I know she married but have no other information.

I am not looking to contact them if they do not want me to but I would like to be able to show them on the family tree.

I don't know if you're still doing look-ups? If you are could you please try to find my (elusive) ancestor James Margam, b in Maesteg, Wales in 1847 he went out to America where he married Annie Thomson Birrell (b. in Fife, Scotland), married in Leadville, Colorado in 1882 they had a dairy farm. I believe James possibly came back to the UK in 1893 from N. York, arriving in Liverpool on the ship Majestic, I can't find him from here on, any info you can give me on him and Annie would be greatly appreciated, as I've been unable to trace them. I did wonder if he went back to the US?
