Moody Blue Report 7 Dec 2010 17:11

Maybe Mary Ann just lived with unknown Morgan after 1851 and to about 1865/6 when she married Mr Cordy?

Glynis Report 7 Dec 2010 17:52

ann, i found out quite a few years ago that mary ann was def born harris, and apparently she did marry a morgan, so the children must be hers, the birth cert i sent for was the 1858 abergavenny, oh gosh ann im confused, maybe i should send for emmas birth cert, but i know who emmas children were, and i know who emma married, my nan was emmas daughter,

lancashireAnn

lancashireAnn Report 7 Dec 2010 21:09

The important thing about Emma's certificate is her parents' names. If you are right it should say Cordy formerly Harris previously Morgan (formerly = maiden name, previously =previous married name)

I wish I could find some baptisms or marriages for you on the monfamilies site but have drawn a blank in all the villages i can think of around Llanwenarth

To quote LancashireAnn

which Naomi did you send for?

Births Sep 1858 (>99%)
Morgan Naomi Crickhowell 11b 122 Scan available - click to view
Morgan Naomi Abergavenny 11a 61 Scan available - click to view

Llanwenarth is Abergavenny - Mary Ann & Thomas' marriage was Crickhowell

You have a certificat for a Naomi but not necessarily the right one.

Especially as Shadrak does not appear to have a daughter Naomi living in 61 or 71,

lancashireAnn

lancashireAnn Report 14 Dec 2010 18:30

I would order the certificate for your gt grandmother Emma Cordy. That will give you a definite name for Mary Ann. As I said above

The important thing about Emma's certificate is her parents' names. If you are right it should say Cordy formerly Harris previously Morgan (formerly = maiden name, previously =previous married name)

Glynis

Glynis Report 14 Dec 2010 19:06
