Is Luming a mis spelt name on the census, or could that be the other name I thought was Lehman. I have been told that the Leemings were German and changed there name ?

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 24 Nov 2012 10:14

Looking at the image I think the name has just been mistranscribed. The image definitely says Leeming and on Findmypast it is transcribed as Leeming. The name is Leeming on all census records back to 1841.

The 1911 census has been mis-transcribed, on the image it could be taken as Leeming or Luming because of the writing.

No sign of German ancestry on the earlier census Kath has posted.

You can rule out the 1915 marriage for Fanny, she is 26, and father wrong in the parish record.

EDIT - no ignor this remark, was an earlier marriage I looked at sorry!

But the marriage to Albert is a possibility, as is the death and census.
