TRYING TO FIND THE BAPTISMS OF WILLIAM TOLMAN APPARENTLY BORN APPROX 1812 CHURCH STANTON, SOMERSET?

AND HIS WIFE LOUISA TOZER BORN APPROX 1800 SEATON AND BEER, DEVON?


I have found there marriage 16 MAY 1833 Seaton, Devon. First child born 1834 and last 1847. William dieds 1891 and Louisa 1884 -just cant find baptisms to take this part of the tree back further.

Yeah true, he seems to change his mind -all i can make from this is that it must be in the devon/somerset area. As I believe church stanton used to be in devon county but now somerset

If Louise Tozer was born c1800 then she'd be very very old for the time to be having a child at age 47?

Looks like she would have been about 45 when last child born. I don't find this too surprising tMarieCeleste, to be honest:

these are the children of William and Louisa, am trying to take it back further into the past with their baptisms, which will hopefully give me their parents names, so can find siblings etc and go further back

Thank you yes that is my family, as you can see by the different spellings of the surname with the marriage and baptisms of children -difficult to know which is correct -but eventually gone by spelling Tolman -but of course his baptism could be Toulman/ Tolman or Tollman.

Tenerife sun that marriage unfortunately is not correct my wife is Louisa, so unlike that baptism you found for William Tolman would correspond which is a shame, will just have to keep looking.

Dancing queen I think the marriage is for the parents of your William 1812 who married Louisa. On the baptisms for March 1813 the parents are given as William and Sarah. The marriage I found is for William and Sarah Salter who married in
1809' before your Williams birth. As you rightly said William and Louisa married in 1833.

Oh right sorry, now understand, just wondering how I could confirm that this is correct parentage as due to marriage being in 1833 -parents not given at marriage, as in post1837.

I'm not sure how to prove that William and Sarah are your Williams parents. I did notice that their first daughter baptised 1910 was called Sarah and the first son William. After the parents maybe but still not proof just an assumption. I'll have a look later to see if I can dig a bit deeper into this family. Just going out to lunch :-D

I have some doubts -just because in 1841 cenus and 1851 cenus I have found two William Tolman -mine William Tolman who gives his dob between 1810/1812 depending on which cenus, married to Louisa and family. Where as there is also a William Tolman gives dob 1813 born Ottery St Mary and married to Susanna, so I think this William must be the william baptised in Ottery St Mary, not mine.

Oh I wish it was. What do you think?
