on Aug. 29,1891, Mrs,. Hepworth
attended English schools
and was married to Paul Hepworth
in 1914. Mr. Hepworth,
who was a motorman for the
Fifth Ave. Bus Co. in New York
City, died in 1936. A member
of Ascalon Chapter of the Order j where he had played football.
of Eastern Star, she was a
communicant of Grace Episcopal
Church in Manhattan.
Her only other survivor, besides
her son, is one granddaughter.

There is plenty relating to the above Rosa Hepworth to be found and also that of Paul..

The mother of said Paul Hepworth (Halifax) went out to NY 1910 on the Cedric out of L/Pool...accompanied by her daughters Claire/Charlie aged 16 and Jennie aged 9.They were going to her husband Jesse Hepworth 125 Bedford Ave Brooklyn NY.

Jesse Hepworth and son Paul were on 1910 Census as "Boarders" in Mass.

I looked at that Maddie...looks possible but if I read it correctly it was a cemetery for an Institution..??? Cannot find any Hepwoth Grave in Mt.Hope.

If this is the correct family then Paul had to have went back to UK to marry Rosa Keen as he is listed 1910 in Mass. I don't have access to check.

Her Passport application to come back 1921 makes strange reading states she has been in US since 1910 and born Oxford..!

Maddie found Donald in the 1930 census in a children's hospital and in the 1940 census in the Craig Colony Institute for Epileptics so that sounds like the right burial.

All this information is fantastic. Been trying for years to track the family down. Rosa's brother Albert was my dad, somewhere along the line he changed his name to his mother's maiden name, Bolton. As far as I know Rosa had 2 other brother besides my dad William & Spencer, she had 4 sister possibly 5. Doris, Ethel, Florence, Beatrice & possibly Mary.

Is This the family living Yardley in 1901.?

Thank you so much for all this information. Do you know if any of these people had children? I met William & his wife Lillian many years ago. I know they have a Granddaughter Valerie but do not know any of their children.
Also met Doris who married John Healey they have a daughter Bernice who lives in Staffordshire.
I believe Albert who is my dad was married before he met my mum & had children in his previous marriage but can find no information on this.

That's the marriage I thought might be Albert's first marriage. Then when I looked at Amy's surname it is given as Hawkins. Is this just a coincidence that it is similar to Elisabeth Hawkes?? or did he change his name to his first wife's maiden name and not his mother's.

Am I complicating this unneccesarily?

No Kath you are not complicating things..!!
..I am working blind here I don't know what Amys' fathers name was when he married her mother..Bolton/Keen.

My father's name was Albert Bolton when he married my mother in July 1938, which was his mother's maiden name.

Been going through records & think that my father's first wife could be Emily Dumbleton. Don't know if this rings any bells with anyone.
