Abigail Report 29 Oct 2006 13:01

I am trying to trace Henry Lemmon who emigrated to Canda between 1871 and 1881. He is on the English Census for 1871 and then on the Candian census in Simcoe, Norfolk North, Ontario in 1881. His wife is Harriet Lemmon (formley Knight) and they have four children, Henry, Charles, Frank and William. Frank and William were both born in Canada although I do not have exact dates I believe Frank was born in 1877 in Quebec. William also died in Canda although I do not know when. Harriet and the children were back in England for 1901 census. Henry went to California - his new wife there was Emily Jackson Lemmon. Harriett, his first wife, returned to England with the children - Charles, Harry and Frank. Would you be able to find anything with these extra details? Thank you

They were all born in Cornwall but went to the US after 1947,Judith,Anthea and Steven were all children of Eddy(don't know his wifes name yet). I know that they went to Ohio first to another family member but i don't know if the all stayed and just Steven went to San Francisco or if they all went, many thanks, Karen

Hi Mary, Re. LEWIS DENHAM b 1869 Scotland, settled in ELGIN , OREGON Thanks for emailing the census pages through re. Lewis DENHAM. As for not being able to find him & his family on the 1930 census, he might have been living in Seattle by then (according to my dad). Also, his first name might be spelt Luis or Louis by 1930. Does that help? Hope so! Janet Granger

Dear Mary Could you try to find a Lancashire lookup for me on the 1841 census. The name is William Hayes born c1800 at Worston, married to Elizabeth. They may have had one child by 1841. By 1841 they were living at Gisburn but can't locate them in 1841. They would have been in the same area which is Clitheroe, Worston, Sawley, Grindleton, Gisburn. His parents may have been Joseph and Betty and he may have been living with them. This area is right on the border with Yorkshire but it seems to be usually in Lancashire. Thanks alot, Toni

Hi Mary, Re the info you have already found on LEWIS DENHAM in Elgin, Oregon: You mentioned when you first tracked him down that you have saved images of the passenger list from 1889, and also a picture of the ship he travelled on - could you send these to the email address I gave you before (the one you sent the census images to)? Thanks very much. Janet

Hiya my grandad went to Canada in Feb 1928. His name was Isaac Sylvester O'Donnell(also known as Jimmy & Toddy). Havent any more info on Malcolm O'Dwyer as it was just his name on the Isaacs passenger list as to where he was heading. We believe Isaac was deported a few years later, most likely back to Ireland.
