Eileen They are probably unavailable on the LDS site as they are submitted records by members! To find these details out you must get to see the original parish records to get the info you need. Always take submitted and look into it yourself as submitted info is only as good as the submitter.. Now if they are Transcribed parish records they should hold all the info that was on the records Zoe

Hi Zoe, I wonder if you can help me for a second time with my husbands father Harry Fryer. He was born in 1925 relatives say in Rhodesia but have no proof of this although he did have a strong accent, could have been born in England and taken over to Rhodesia. His Fathers name was George Henry Fryer (an electrical fitter) and he also had a sister called Maude and possibly a brother. It would be great if you could come up with a birth for him in this country. He married in 1954 in the Fylde Lancashire and died in 1967.Kind regards Cheryl

Hi Zoe, He is a complete mystery as he obviously lived with his grandparents from a baby. I only found he existed when an old family bible was found. Then I found him on the 1861 census. His actual family had another child in Broadmayne ( Harriet Burt Kennedy b. 1849) and then moved to Stepney, Middx where his father Thomas Kennedy was in the Met. Police. I don't think he can have died as the entries in the bible, only state that the mother was deceased and that was in May 1871. I suppose he could have gone back to Ireland. Thankyou very much for trying. Regards Mary

Leanne

Leanne Report 7 Apr 2006 15:53

Hi Zoe, I received my great grandfather's marriage certificate the other day to confirm his age and father's name. His name was JESSE AYRES aged 35 at time of marriage un 1917 so that makes the year of birth as 1883. His father's name is WILLIAM AYRES a COALMINER. All this took place in Neath South Wales. So I look for a JESSE AYRES in 1891 with a father called WILLIAM AYRES. I found him; William Ayres , Head born 1857 Monmouthsire, Wales Anne Ayres, Wife born 1870 Clase, Glamorgan, Wales (I think this is William's second wife as she would have been to young to have Jesse) Griffydd Ayres, Son born 1881 Llansamlet, Wales Jesse Ayres, Son born 1884 Llansamlet, Wales I thought bingo find them, so I started looking up birth but could not find any. So I asked advice from someone else and they found the family in 1901 under the surname HARES, and someone else found the same family under HARES to in 1881. Could this really be them!! Many thanks, Leanne.

Hello Zoe , Thanks for the info re my missing Cartwright family in 1851, I don't think that the family you found fits the bill and this one may have to go in the 'unsolved mysteries' file - you were my last hope! What is frustrating is that I have them in 1841 in Tipton and in 1861 also in Tipton although I am now begining to wonder if that info is correct. Could I ask you one to see if you can find any of the children, as they may be staying away at relatives, which may give a clue. They would be in 1851 Edward Cartwright aged 10 born in Tipton Mary Cartwright aged 6 born in Tipton and John Carwright aged 3 also born in Tipton if none of those turn up I will have to assume that the family was not recorded for some reason. Thanks again for trying Regards John
