Bethany Report 15 Feb 2006 21:30

Hello I'm looking for a family of Thynnes, my grandad assures me there were 13 children, but I have only managed to find 8. I thought he must have been wrong, but then I found a marriage certificate for Clifford Thynne who was my grandad's uncle, but was unable to locate his birth registration, so now I think there probably was 13 of them. The parents were Corelli William Thynne and Martha Alice Thynne (previously Evans). Corelli was born in Brixton, Surrey and Martha was born in Pembroke Wales. They married in Wales in and the children I have found so far were born in Haverfordwest. The dates of the children I have found so far range from 1899 to 1909. I've found a marriage that could be them in 1896, it just says Thynne,William W.ham...don't know if they ever lived in West Ham though?! A bit confused any help appreciated, thanks Beth

no, 1901 is the latest there is availible at the moment. You have found births up to 1909- have you searched on from there?

Rachel Report 15 Feb 2006 21:35

there is a 100 year clousure on the censuses. the 1911 will not be available until Jan 1st 2012. The 1912 will be very different from all the others because they are all household sheduals and in very very poor condition.

Yes I'm just going to do that, but if there are more Thynne children, they may not have been born before 1901. There was one born in 1899 who died in birth I think, and one in 1900, so unless they were born before 1899 then I'm not sure. And I still can't see the marriage...as I said I don't think they married in West Ham..well I don't have a clue! The parents were both born in 1875 so the earliest they could have married would be about 1891...

Oh wow that's brilliant thankyou. Yes two more I'm guessing. But how do I know that Pearl, Hannah and Gilbert and part of the same family? Did it have Evans as the mother's maiden name? I'm 100% sure that one of the siblings is called Clifford and he married a lady called Violet Ryan. Thanks so much. It'd be fantastic to find the last two!
