Hi Zoe, I am having trouble with William Strickland and his wife Jane. According to the 1881 census they were both born in North Yorkshire about 1840 but the only marriage I have found is in 1866 in Lincolnshire. Please could you look in the 1871 for William, who should be in Lastingham, near Pickering, Yorks. This might throw some fresh light on the family. Many thanks, Frances

Hello Zoe, Thanks for the info that you posted I'm not sure if its him or not. James Married a Mary Ann Dewe in 1853 in October in both were of full age so no clues there. The marriage was in Isleworth Nr Brentford ,Middlesex. It said on his marriage cert that they were both living in Isleworth at the time of marriage. I think I have his wife Mary Ann Dewe living at Stanley Terrace,as a servant in Chelsea in 1851 bn Sutton ,Berkshire. Hope this helps Jenny

Hi Zoe, Thank you for your reply of 00:19 today regarding the elusive Sarah LAMBERT. Please could you tell me where you found the one who was married to Charles (parish & / or reference) please? It is worth me checking out just in case. Yes the one that I am looking for was a spinster in 1851. She was stated to be a spinster when she married in 1853. I have her in 1861in St. Mary's Southampton RG9/676/128 p.31 as Sarah Nineham, wife of John Nineham, 36, born Greeno. Point [Greenore Point], Ireland. If both Ancestry and the Hampshire Genealogical Society Index cannot find her, it suggests to me that her entry is illegible or she is not recorded properly. Thank you for all your help, Jeff
