Hi Tracy, It's Margaret again. My great grandfather, Charles Stetson Collins was born to Emma Collins on 26/07/1861. The address given is 39 Stanhope St., Toxteth Park, Lancaster. The family came from Devon and she returned there to marry John Rogers on 02/03/1862 in Plymouth. I would love to know who she stayed with, or was it some sort of Mother and Baby Home. I'm hoping the 1861 census will provide an answer! Thanks, any help would be great.

Hi Sheila, Jennifer again-the Watson (1836) that you found for me yesterday (thanks again) apparently had three sons Thomas Diston 1863, James 1865 and another born in 1860 he was given to me by my cousin as another James, but I cannot imagine anybody calling two Sons the same, unless the James I have went by his second name of Tindale (Mothers maiden name also) I have her and sons born 1863 and 1865 living with new husband George Roberts on the 1881 cencus but no trace of the eldest Son-any idea where I go next. Jennifer.

Hi Tracy I would appreciate your help on this puzzle please. in my tree I have a Mary Ann Barden/Bardon born in 1866 in Seaham in the north of England. I have her in the 1861/1871 and 1881 census with her mother Mary A Barden born in 1833 in ?Scotland but can find no trace of her father so perhaps he was working away from home. in 1861 Mary is married but in 1881 she is widowed. The first child of Mary as far as I know is Janet Barden born 1852 in Seaham. have found on freebmd a marriage between Mary Ann Robertson and George Barden in sunderland in Dec qtr 1855. This is possible but would appreciate your advice before I send for the certificate. regards Angela
