Hi Maureen Thanks I do have the two from genuki. Maybe the following information will help: I have a family of Charles and Ann Bolam from Elsdon, whose children were baptised at Birdhope Craig, which I believe is the Presbyterian church for Elsdon, and Ryton Woodside Presbyterian Swalwell. It seems the family moved around until they eventually settled in Bywell St Peters. Ann was married in Bywell St Peters. At the time of her marriage this is the only Bolam family in the parish and some of the children of Ann and Charles were witnesses to the wedding. In the census Ann has listed Muggleswick as her birthplace and so far have been unable to find where Mary was born. I am really hoping you find a listing at Muggleswick for which I would be really grateful. Dorothy

Maureen, If you have time a look for the christening of HANNAH WALKER born cs 1857 in Escomb would be really great. Her fathers name will be either George or Charles. Derek

maureen vickers -Lookups offered - Durham Thank you Maureen. families I am researching who were born in Durham are WILLIAM MADDISON and his wife ELIZABETH RIDLEY. I know William's parents are EDWARD MADDISON and his wife MARY WALKER. who also probably were born in Durham, today I as told Edward abt.1829 at pittington and Mary abt.1834 at Seam Labour. William was born about 1858, Elizabeth abt. 1861-1862. Is it possible to confirm dates please and of course also if there were more in the Edward and Mary family. Apparently today i have been told of margaret abt.1853. If you are able that would be simply marvellous. The families emmigrated to Australia probably before 1871, but need to check again shipping which will do tonight. Many thanks for your help. Hi Maureen, this is very generous of you. I have been having trouble with a particular couple for the past twelve months!!! My grandmother was MARY LILY CASSIDY b. 22/10/1894 at 18 summer st, felling, sub-district Heworth in Gateshead. Her parents are recorded on her birth cert as FRANCIS CHARLES CASSIDY and MARY ANN CASSIDY formerly WRAY. This sounds straightforward but I cant find any details on the parents, no marriage, no family, nothing! By the time MARY LILY is 5/6 years, she and the family had moved to Lanarkshire and are found on the 1901 census as WRAY, and CASSSIDY is used as another christian name i.e. FRANCIS CHARLES CASSIDY WRAY etc. Hope I havent lost you yet. Not sure why they have started using WRAY as a surname, and just wondered if you could find any details of them whilst they were in the Gateshead area. I have already tried Ancestry etc and lots of people have tried to help me from GR already, but I am still stuck! By the time MARY LILY got married, she was known as MARY LILY CASSIDY WRAY, and her parents are recorded as FRANCIS CHARLES CASSIDY WRAY and MARY ANN CASSIDY WRAY formerly RAE.............a different surname again! Hope you can help, but wouldn't blame you if you didn't want to !!! Kind regards, leanne x

Hi Maureen, glad it's not just me!!!! I guess they didn't think that we would be looking for them 100 years later did they? On MARY LILY's birth certificate he is a cartman, maybe that was in the mines? who knows. When he was in scotland he was a steel worker. Don't you just wish you could ask them!!!!!!!!!!!! Regards, Leanne x

Hi, it's me again. Just been looking at my records and got some more info if you could have a look. FRANCIS CHARLES CASSIDY WRAY died 20/5/1911 in Scotland. It says that he has been also married to a MARY ANN WATSON and ANABELLA PEARSON. On his death cert his parents are recorded as FRANCIS CHARLES WRAY and MARGARET WRAY formerly McHOLLAND or MULLHOLAND - not clear to read. I think He married annabella pearson Dec 24th, 1893 in HOWORTH or HEWORTH Co Durham. The more information I get, the more confused I am! I think this man has multiple identites, wives and children, or maybe I am just missing something really obvious. I wouldn't blame you if you completely ignored all this! Thanks for at least trying! Regards Leanne x
