hi Susan if you can please looking for Margaret Jost abt 1850 Lpool, Lancashire, England Wife (Head) William A. Jost abt 1878 Lpool, Lancashire, England Son Laura Jost abt 1880 Lpool, Lancashire, England Daughter living at 9 Kirkstall St, Kirkdale, Liverpool, Lancashire, England that was in 1881 and i know they had a doughter Margaret A in 1890 and her husband name was Arthur he was not on the 1881 census they were marred i Liverpool in 1877. If you can find them on the 1891 or the 1901 census it will help thank you Allen

Hello Gwen Sorry but I cant find a birth for him either. The district should be Barton Regis in Gloucestershire. The only thing possible is that John was his middle name. As for the IGI entry, I doubt this is the same John as to many things are different, including year of birth and both parents names. Do you have any more information on John, ie who he married so we could check his birth place on a later census or indeed the certificate which would show his father's name. Hello Susan, I'm hoping you can find in 1871 John Horrocks b 1839 Warrington and his wife Sarah b Manchester. They had at least one son John William Horrocks b 1862 Manchester. Also in 1871 Joseph Horrocks b 1840 Warrington And in 1861 Matthew Horrocks b 1832 Warrington. All the Horrocks men so far have been Boilermakers. Thanks for your time and effort, Janice.
