MARY MOLLOY Hi Mary Had another quick look for you but still couldn't spot anything that looked a possible. It could be Janet, instead of Jane. Another possible is Jean. I've noticed in my records a lot of Jean/Jane, so maybe that's where she's hiding!!! Good luck Dawn :-)

Many thanks for the offer, Dawn. I am trying to trace details of my Great Grandparents. Their names were David Kay and Jessie Thirza Reid, who I believe was a Cockney. They lived in Cronberry, nr Muirkirk, Ayrshire, Scotland. They had five sons..John, James, Robert, David and Hugh. Also five daughters..Cunningham (Connie), Maggie, Annie, Jessie and my Grandmother Thirza, who was born in 1898. I'm afraid that is the only information I have. Regards Kay

Dawn, thank you for looking anyway. As you rightly say, the parents are 'wrong'. If you have a spare moment, could you possibly look for any information on the following: 0n 31.12.1855 at No.2 Perries Court, High Street, Edinburgh: John McIntosh of Blackfriars Wynd, age 24, Lace Maker, born Canongate, parents John McIntosh, occupation Hatter and Mary married Elizabeth Hume of Fountain Close, age 21, born High Street, parents David Hume, occupation Bookbinder and Elizabeth. This is the furthest back I have managed to get with this family who are my great great grandparents. I would be most grateful for any other information you may be able to find for me. Thank you in anticipation. Carol

Thanks for the previous look up. Can I ask for another? I found 1789 marriage of George Clark and Margaret Petrie in Old Meldrum. Cannot find their births or deaths. I know George was alive at the time of the 1841 census which shows him in his son's house age 75 (no sign of his wife but he might have been visiting?) Tried to find grave on Aberdeen & N.E. Family History Society list of M.I..s but no luck. They were married in the established Church and the census shows George as born in Aberdeenshire the lady at the family history society found a George Clark born in Fettercairn, Kincardinshire (not far away) around that time but not sure if it,s the right one. George's Birth would be about 1766.

Hi Dawn, can you look up a birth of Christopher Buchanan in Dumfries, abt 1819-1821. Also the marriage of Christopher Buchanan to Jean Blacklock abt 1841 - 1843 also in Dumfries. The birth of their first son Thomas in 1843, was in the parish of Middlebie Dumfries.I have been unable to trace them on the 1841 census in Middlebie ( BOTH MAY HAVE BEEN SINGLE AT THAT TIME) On the wed cert to his second wife in Lancs ,his father was named as James Buchanan, don't know who his mother was. Keeping my fingers crossed in the hope that you may find something abt the above. Doreen.
