Hi Ian, I'm over the moon that you have found her marriage cert. I can't thank you enough. As far as I know she was alive in1993 and living in a nursing home, I beleive she would have been about 90. Does this help?
Kind regards

Mary

Hi Ian,
Would it please be possible to do a birth lookup please. For a Rose Durant who was born C1892 or 1893 in Bridgewater Somerset.
Also a marrage lookup for Rose Durant who married
John Henry Sellick in either 1914, 1915 or 1916.
John Henry Sellick was born in Bristol in 1893.
They may have got married in Bridgewater or Bristol
Hopefully if I can get an index number I can send off for her birth cert and wedding cert.
Many thanks
Colin

Hi Lorna
I have searched all though every page of Rixon for 1894, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99,1900,1901, 1902,1903,1904, and 1905 birth records.

I have found Bessie Elizabeth Rixon birth record in the 3rd Qtr of 1905, born Kensington, vol 1a page 112.

But cannot find any Lily VICTORIA Rixon, although there are plenty of Rixon's born in Kensington!! No Lily Victoria. Do you know if her name may have been Lilian, and she used the name Lily?

I also have looked on the passenger lists and i cannot find a Bessie Rixon
Thanks

Hi Colin

I had a bit of deja vu when reading your message, only i also have the name Durrant in my tree!! However, mine are spelt with a double R!!
Anyway

This is her birth.

Name: Rose Durant
Year of Registration: 1892
Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
District: Bridgwater
County: Somerset
Volume: 5c
Page: 348

I had a bit of trouble when searching under her for their marriage, so thought i would give it a go under his name! When doing this it came up straight away, under a year that i had already searched for her!!
The reason it didnt come up with her is because on their marriage record they have spelt her name with a double R (Durrant) instead of what it is on her birth (Durant)
Anyway the record follows;

Name: John H Sellick
Year of Registration: 1915
Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
Spouse's Surname: Durrant
District: Bridgwater
County: Somerset
Volume: 5c
Page: 755

Hope this helps

Hi Ian, You very kindly helped me earlier regarding Mary Ellen Thomson nee Maggs. I know she was alive in 1993 and living in a nursing home in Canada, she would have been about 90. I also know she had one daughter but, unfortunately I don't know the daughters name. Is that any help.

Thank you so much

Hi Kym
I have searched for Thelma Ward from 1914 through to 1920 as you advised and the only Thelma Ward in the Nuneaton area for these dates is the following:

Thelma B Ward - born in Nuneaton vol 6d page 1118 her mother maiden name was Bradbury.

You will see that the mothers maiden name is different to what you said, Could it be possible that Alice was previously married (therefore obtaining the name of White) and that her actual maiden name was Bradbury?
Thanks
Ceri

Hi Gwen
You will appreciate that Arthur Shaw is quite a common name, however i have found the death record, it is recorded twice for some reason.

One is recorded just as Arthur Shaw, the other as Arthur H.W. Shaw both aged 19 at the time of death, died in Macclesfield vol 8a page 169, this was found in the 2nd Qtr of 1919.

Do you know where he was born at all, only in 1900 alone there are about 10 Arthur Shaw's per Qtr.

Thanks
Ceri

Hi Karen
I have found them on 1871 Census, this is them below.
George Kemp, abt 1870, born Newark, Nottinghamshire, England relationship to head of household = Son, registered in Newark Nottinghamshire
Mary A Kemp, abt 1850, born Newark, Nottinghamshire, England, Wife Newark Nottinghamshire
Thomas Kemp, abt 1845 Newark, Nottinghamshire, England, Head Newark Nottinghamshire

The above may not be the full household at the time as i did not have full access to the site which i found it on, sorry but it may help nether the less.

And here is Maria Kemp etc on 1871 census, she is slightly older than you thought.

Maria Kemp, abt 1841 Bavnetty, Lincolnshire, England Wife Thornhill Yorkshire
Thomas Kemp, abt 1842 Dewsbury, Yorkshire, England Head Thornhill Yorkshire

Although, on this one i could not find the children?!

I got the above results off ancestry, so maybe if someone has full access to this particular site they maybe able to research further i couldnt be more help.

If you PM me your email address i can send you further details of where this information was obtained and it contains photos too!!

I also found the following for him on another website!

Name: BRIMSON, Edward George

Last name: Brimson
First name(s): Edward George

Edward G Brimson, Pte 41922, Worc, 1918, vol I.55, page 364

In view of the above and the fact that it states that he is buried in a cemetry in Belgium, this would be where he died, it also states that he died of the wounds he suffered.

Thanks

Hi Ceri/Ian…
Quick question…
I noticed you gave info re WW1 Deaths.
I have details regarding my Great Uncle from the War Graves Commision.
Would I be able to get a copy of his Death Cert? Did they issue Death Certs?

Hi Ian - could you look up 1881, 1891 & 1901 census for
Sydney Bullard b 1880 around the Southwark, Lambeth Surrey UK area?

From what I can make out, his father is Frederick. If the Father is correct, I will have to get the other earlier censuses checked, but this will do for the moment.
He married a Beatrice Howell, I believe, tho I have no record of it - in 1901 around that area.

Thanks heaps - Im in Australia
Judy

Hi Ian/Ceri
Many thanks for the Scollon information. I already had Ann (1835) in 1851 living in Hulme, Lancs where she was the niece of Michael and Sarah (Ann) Garity. I have been trying to find Sarah's maiden name and though the Scollon connection might lead me to it. Michael was born in Ireland and Sarah in Sheffield. I don't know whether Ann Scollon was the niece of Michael or Sarah.
Do you have info on births prior to 1837? If so would you be able to find a Sarah/Ann Scollon born Sheffield c 1811-1814 please.
Thanks for your help
Mary
