Sheila - any information on William Savage who married Hannah Wilkinson around 1856 Leeds area. Census info on their families would be appreciated since I can't trace anything back further than the birth certificate of their daughter Mary Jane 1859. Many thanks in anticipation. It is late on the other side the globe so won't be able to check replies until tomorrow. Verlie

Hi Sheila

could you possibly help me with my scottish relatives???

Still to find i have.....
The parents of John Robertson. I know nothing about this man only that he married an Ann Laing who was born in November 11th. I cannot find their marriage certificate on scotlands people at all. They did however have 2 daughters (helen, christian) and 1 son (John) and a niece Ann lived with them.

The parents of Margaret Yull. She is sometimes misrepresented as Yule though. She married George Anderson and had twin daughters. (see above)

The mother of Colvill Graham born 25th september 1816. his fahter was william graham but the birth certificate does not say his mothers name and ive no idea how to go about finding it! He married an Ann Sim in January 1842.

many thanks in advance

Hi Sheila,
From IGI I have James Herbert and Martha having children in Ansty, Warwickshire.
Eliza 1838
George 1839
Joseph 1846
Elizabeth 1847
Mary Ann 1848
Martha 1849
These are all christenings which do not match the FreeBMD registrations. I would be most grateful if you could find them in the 1851 Census.
I have not been able to find a marriage for James and Martha in IGI so their ages and places of birth might help me find their births also.

Many thanks,
Frances

I have had a look but cannot find any info, other than census.
You may have to look at Parish records to find out more, or contact the person who posted the info on IGI

Jo-anne
Have found their marriage
THOMAS CROSSLEY/MARY POLLARD
April qtr 1898 Bury, Lancs
vol 8c page 916

Cannot find anything specific as there are lots of Thomas Crossleys in Lancs
Have you got their marriage certificate as this will give you other info

Sheila

Sheila Report 4 Nov 2007 16:08

Jo-anne
If your friend buys a copy you will get place info and parent info- very useful to move on
As you have the vol/page numbers it is cheaper

They would only be on 1901, but cannot narrow it down as there are a number of Thomas with wife Mary in Lancs- sorry
If you get any more clues email me

Hi Sheila,
Thank you for your personal attention and kind offer but with the benefit of the dates you gave I have looked again and found the necessary marriage. Perhaps he went to Hull and brought her back on the barge.....?!

Frances
p.s. Yes, it is fun, possibly an addiction.
