It is still playing up. I have mailed Ancestry and complained and asked for a credit. Please all do the same.

I'm glad it's not just me. Very fed up with this, it seems to happen alot. Will email Ancestry and let them know I am not happy!!!.

Now you lot, dont all go spoiling ancestry for me. I still have a day or so to go before I have to cancel my 14 day trial. I have got a lot of census images, think I have found my gt gt grandfathers parents and possibly his wifes as well (2 or 3 possible couples for her parents). Must get back to it now before you bust it completely.

To phone up and complain, call 0800 404 9723. To ask for a credit phone the same number between 3 -7pm and speak to an Executive Officer

I signed up for 14 day trial and had same problem yesterday. Managed to find the search on Genes Reunited but not on Ancestry. Have emailed them, but no reply. Not good really - especially as they was so much money for annual subscription!!

Has anyone had a reply from them yet ?

LD

LD Report 11 Nov 2008 12:04

I have spoken to them and they say they are "working on the problem" (techspeak for don't know what's wrong) but could not tell me when it will be fixed

Huia Report 11 Nov 2008 23:21

I had a reply this morning re my complaint about the libellous tree. They want my information as it appears exactly on their website (so I sent a scan of the page relating to Hujen Bettany, dont know if that is what they wanted). They also want the URL address where my information is found on their website. I am not sure what a URL address is, I asked if it is the bit prined across the bottom of the page I sent. I told them I am an oldie and not too sure about all the terms.

Perhaps they are just stalling for time, hoping to take money from my credit card. I will be cancelling the free trial tonight or tomorrow. Have almost finished looking at all the censuses that interest me.

Well its no consolation that this is not just a local problem, but they are the only site for Bmds from 1930s to 83 and its holding up the sale of certificates too. No refs no orders ?
By the time they get it up and running again it will crash from overload...oh Lord make me patient !

Hoobity Report 12 Nov 2008 00:14

I had this problem last night when looking at census and if you click on the little blue curly arrow at the top of your screen to the right of the backwards page arrow it will reload the page.
I was getting the not found page but if I clicked on the reload page blue curly arrow it would then display the page I wanted.

I've had a mail reply from Ancestry informing me that they are aware of the INTERMITTENT problem and are working on it.

Huia

Huia Report 12 Nov 2008 09:12

Yes I have just noticed that they are working on it intermittently.

It has taken me at least5mins to get into ancestry..typed in the info..another 5mins waiting for it to come up..then clicked on what I wanted and `internet explorer cannot display this page` comes up..been having probs for days now..is it due to the new style they are trying out or is it because they are inundated with the free trial..I can feel an anxiety attack coming on if this carries on..due to renew so will complain strongly tmoz..its a crying shame when you have limited time to search..I can only get on after 9pm so go to bed feeling damned stressed...
