So far has problems with viewing Medal Card, the BMD's. then census and now tonight can not view British Phone Books.

Plus login and logout problems tonight.

My patience is wearing a bit thin as these problems have been going on for over a week now.

Oh and forgot the error processing message .... scream !!!!!

And tonight the Home Page has changed slightly.

Errors processing EVERYTHING now....going to bed in a right strop !!!
I hate going to bed early but I bet I'm glad I did when that alarm goes off at 6am - wish that the clock had an "error processing request"

Ok so who broke it then ?????
How very annoying, I still havent had a reply from them.
Oh well I'll tell you a story then.
A long time ago my ex late husband had a fling with a young girl from his work. From this came a little girl, when her Mum discovered what a nasty bit of work he was, she left and returned to her parents, walking through the night in pouring rain to get away from him.
The only evidence of this baby was a medical card and the leaving note.
So my children have always known that there is a half sister out there somewhere.
Well tonight I found her, she has fallen out with her Mum as she has never had any photos of her Dad. so this evening I've been scanning as many as I can find and sending them to her.
My daughter called and I told her the good news, they both want to meet so very soon they will all be united, I do like happy endings

I emailed Ancestry yesterday to say I needed to either cancel or downgrade to a much cheaper sub which would just cover UK. All the site gives is 'upgrade now'. I said I couldnt remember my password. The reply gave me a new password but didnt mention cancelling or downgrading. I will have to make a phone call to the free NZ number in 3 and a half hours. That will probably mean sitting on the phone for a half hour or more.

At least I have gained a little info from the site, and have saved a lot of census images. I just wish they had a better system.

I didnt make the phone call, I had another go at cancelling on line. Seem to have succeeded. They sent an email saying they havent taken any money from my card on either of the 2 guest accounts I have. What a relief. I have been under so much stress in the past 12 days it is not funny. Now I can relax (but not too much).

I have just contacted tech support and will no doubt get a standard message in a few days blaming my computer!!

I remarked to them that they are not giving me their side of the subscription deal!I pay them every month and how they would moan if i didn't pay full amount.Well they are not giving us our full access to records!!

Growl!i am soooooo angry looking at 'no matches' when i know a BMD record is there.Even my own birth record came up 'no matches.'

Feel better now.....Ancestry need to sort these probs out.

At last a reply from above !! Only took 6 days wooohooo!!!

The problem is intermittant according to Ancestry,
well at least they're not using the excuse that my computer is in error.

I pointed out it had taken 14 hours to achieve one reference and at that rate it will take until 2015 before I could order the certificates I need, by which time I too will be a reference. !

As for the lack of census images for a month earlier on and now the lack of BMDs, what recompense do they intend to make ?We shall see???
Will I get a 6 week extention to my membership ?
I very much doubt it.

There are still problems with complete BMD searches. You sometimes have to try several times to get any results at all - and even then some quarters are missing. The census search engine seems to have deteriorated, too. On several occasions I've had successful searches on one member of a family which show up all the other members - but no results at all for other members of the same family, despite their having appeared on the original search. They also appear to be reluctant to amend blatantly incorrect entries in a way that makes them searchable. Makes you wonder whether all those missing relatives are actually lurking in there somewhere evading the creaking search facility.
