Thank you so much for the info on this site. My card has now arrived. Have found loads of stories. At first I thought the newspapers were limited but when I started to look through I realised that the ones on there cover a very wide area. For example the Birmingham Post covers Shropshire, Staffordshire etc. as well as Warwickshire. Never realised my family were a load of petty criminals !! I knew a lot of them were shoe/bootmakers but have now found out some were receiving stolen leather to make the boots !!!

Once you log into Lancashire Libraries site click on "Online Reference Library" on the left hand side of the page.

The click on "19th Century British Library Newspapers" on the left hand side of the page.

Enter your library barcode number and press "Proceed".

From there click "Browse Publication Title" and click one one that interests you. Then away you go.

Good hunting.

Has anyone else had a problem with marking as read items? I have previously marked several articles but the next time I log in they have disappeared. Now have to make sure I write down the date and name of the article just in case.
