Jess If Ada Bassendale and Elizabeth Bassendale were?? Sister, then Ada Bottcher would have been the Niece of Ada Bassendale. I too have looked at the Baxendale's but cannot find one that fits in. Victor

Changing the subject slightly - It's very strange that the 1893 witness, Mary Bunfield, is a name that only appears to occur in Norfolk/Suffolk on any census or GRO reg. Wots goin' on??? Sarah

Christine in Herts Report 3 Jul 2005 16:47

Jess - did you get that actual cert for the wedding? If not, it appears in the Lancs BMD site: Lancashire Marriage indexes for the years: 1893 Surname Forename(s) Surname Forename(s) Church / Register Office Registers At Reference BASSINDALE Ada M MELLOR Samuel Walton, St. Mary Liverpool 2012WD/16/395 As it's a church, there may be a records office copy of the registers of which you could get a photo copy (for < £1) instead of paying out for a cert - and you'd get to see their handwriting instead of someone else's.
