MTG, I'm pmsl at your posting that is so funny.

Now if it was me it would have to be either Mr Brendan Cole or if I couldn't have one of the pro's it would be a toss up between Mr Tom Chambers or Mr Chris Hollins.
I have had the pleasure of wrapping my arms around a certain Mr Darren Gough when he came to switch the lights on in our Town Centre a couple of years ago, now he was well built. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to be a pain but no paper here today, not been near the shop. When is the result programme please? And while I am here can anyone give me the time of the last night of the proms, the popular bit? \thanks.

GlitterBaby Report 11 Sep 2010 17:12

No result programme today as it is for celebrities meeting their partners

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 11 Sep 2010 17:29

OK somebody fill me in then. Just celebrities meeting partners? Do they normally do that?

So when is the first proper strictly competition etc? Next week?

I'm glad to give you a giggle Helen.

Just sent Mark off. My, my but he is a FINE looking fella. Small, but beautifully marked. [geddit]

Just got time to give meself a quick rub down with a lettuce leaf before I settle myself down with the rest of you on the sofa.

Hanging my sparkly number out to air for a while, will have it dry cleaned before next week proper, but will be in practice clothes to watch the show. This consists of leotard, wrap-around skirt, and leggings. Want to give the air of seriousness to these proceedings. Naturally they are all black, and lycra packed to hold in my minimal lumps and bumps.

Just pleased to know that over the next few weeks, the amount of dancing I will do, and the pounds will just fall off. I will transform from Baby Elephant to Sugar Plum Fairy.

OK just got time for a quick cuppa before I settle myself.
See you there.

Well girls only 15 mins to go. Are we all dressed ready? I've decided to save my dress for next week and have just put a plain black cocktail dress on tonight. So I can relax and watch the group dance in comfort.

Off to make my pitcher of pimms to enjoy while watching the show.

Ooooooh nooooooo.

Only 10 minutes into the show and I got a phone call that I had to take, so missed a load of the show.

I see Anton got the short straw again. As lovely as Ann Widdiecombe is, she aint no dancer.

Brendan got paired with Michelle Williams. She is one hot mamma. I think there will be some sparking between her and Alesha Dixon. Alesha thinks she is the British equivalent of Beyonce, so I think it could be high noon at the OK Coral.

Doncha just love it. Cant wait for the programme proper in a couple of weeks.

Already NOT loving, Pamela and Patsy.

Cheers Helen, that Pimms was luv-er-lee.

speaking from Wales I would like to inform you that Gavin Henson is a big head, full of himself - banned from many pubs and clubs in Cardiff!!!
Austin Healey and Matt Dawson, both rugby players were excellent on Strictly - having seen Gavin on the floor this evening, I can confidently say that he'll be out just after his feet have touched the dance floor - rubbish

I love Anne Widdecombe - good sport - I bet Anton Dubecque [not his real name - probably Fred Scroggins] was livid when he found out he was her partner. God love her - she can hardly walk even and has a severe list to starboard

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 11 Sep 2010 22:09

Ann, correct me if I am wrong, but I think Antons real name is Anthony Beark. Something along those lines.

Yes I thought that Ann Widdie was listing.

While you're on line, come and join Kitty and me for a drink on another thread, your more than welcome. hic.

Well I hate to sound like a 'party-pooper' here but I was bitterly disappointed and felt very flat after the 'meet the competitors' show. I didn't like the new male dancers at all and I thought the new 'set' was awful, tacky. Poor Tina O'Brien seems at a disadvantage already as the 'little boy' partner she's acquired was obviously the weakest of the new boys - and I had great hopes for her. Somehow or other I am going to have to try and muster up some enthusiasm by next Saturday as at the moment I am not sure if I am even going to bother to watch. Oh dear, I sound like a miserable old crow moaning but I am so disappointed. Please let me be wrong and it turns out a good competition.

Hi Helen

I feel the same way Rita,I like Ann she's a good sport, though she will be the butt of even more jokes,..and poor Anton always seems to get the 'lame' ones.....if you get my drift lol....Paul Daniels?...ummm...nooo!

Didn't like any of the new lads, soo full of themselves, and I actually felt a bit embarrassed when they leered at their chosen partners.

I know we have to become used to new dancers, but, I'll miss Matthew and Brian :O(.... very pleased Vincent and Flavia are still on the show.

Keeep Dancing

Julia Report 13 Sep 2010 13:03

I hope Ann is not ridiculed too much, say to the point of embarressment, though she has a broad back, and always takes it well.
Glad Vincent is still there. Either last year or the one before, he did an Argentinian Tango, and it made me a quivering wreck, and foaming at the mouth. Good thinks come in small parcels.LOL
Don't like the new lads, and did not like the set pieces. They were too artificial.LOL
But, will keep watching

Vincent - small but beautifully marked!!

Anton - loves himself far too much!!!

much as I admire Ann, I can only see her with shopping trolley

I'm liking Jimmy Mistry very much - full package there!!!

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 14 Sep 2010 19:55

I love Vincent and Flavia together, they are the real deal. Their Argentinian Tango must be one of the most erotic dances. Nearly as good as me and Mark. lol

Poor old Ann. She will look like a ship in full sail if she does ballroom dancing in the fuller skirt. She gallomped around the floor like a demented elephant.

I really admire her guts, but is it wise.

edit. Reminds me of the song by Joyce Grenfell
'As Stately As Two Galleons We Glide Across The Floor'
