Helen1959 Report 12 Oct 2010 07:17

Morning folks,
sorry I've not been on recently, to be honest hubby has been unwell over the last few days so I was sitting in living room watching films with him rather than being in the kitchen on the computer.

Right I haven't read anybodies comments yet on Saturdays show, I thought I would post first then compare my thoughts with what you have said.
Well there was 2 major highlights on saturday's show and that was Scott and Patsy. They were both amazing, my jaw dropped after about 20 seconds of Patsy's dance starting and it remained open all the way through. It was like there was a totally different woman on the floor compared to the previous show.
Scott seemed to have loosened up and relaxed totally. You would of thought that he had been dancing for years.
Pamela and Jimmy also put in good performances this week. I was abit disappointed with Matt's dance this week, also Felicity was very wooden in my eyes.
I was surprised to see that Goldie was the unfortuneate one to go, I think the final 2 should of been Paul and Ann, she made me laugh at her comments, I know that she is the comedic value for the show this year but she can't dance.
Hoping everyone is well and preparing their costumes for this weekend.
Take care
Helen

I think Michelle will be pretty safe for quite a while as Brendan is so popular...don`t think he`s ever gone out early has he?

Think this years show will be great with the standard so high in the first 2 weeks

I like Patsy, Pamela { i can hear you all groaning} Scott and Kara..though mainly Kara as i can`t take my eyes off the gorgeous Artem!!...and theres just something about Brendan when he dances...no one seems to move like he does..........though not very impressed with Michelle up to now, agree she will have a huge fan base from Destinys Child but not sure they are the people that watch Strictly........ I love Anns sense of humour, she even manages to shut Craig up.... and am so happy that they are not clashing with xfactor this year so as we don`t have to make choices about which one we watch....

Yes it is good that they are not clashing. However I was totally exhausted at the end of all that watching on Saturday Lol!!!!

Helen1959 Report 12 Oct 2010 20:54

Nicky, i agree with you about Brendan, I love watching him move and what a lovely tush.

Ann I must admit that I wish they did clash, a) because I don't watch XFactor never have done and b) if it was on at the same time I would get to watch all of it every other week. I work every other Saturday and don't get home till nearly 7pm and by then most of the programme is over when it starts at 5.45pm.

Nickydownsouth Report 12 Oct 2010 21:40

Yes Ann....I think in these first few weeks while both shows have a lot of contestants its going to be a marathon every time....felt like I had square eyes by the time i`d finished.!!

Sympathise with you Helen..have you got as facility to record Strictly on the weeks you work?

Nicky, I have virgin on demand so I get to watch it all the way through either on the Saturday night or during the Sunday, ( if there isn't alot of sport on that I want to watch) before the results show.

Although I was wrong in guessing that Michell would be the one to go, I am very pleased that she didn't.

She really seemed to be listening to the judges comments (e.g . about her shoulders) so those tips, plus more time to get to know Brendan and to "get the feel" of competitive dancing should hold her in good stead.
I have high hopes for her in the next few weeks.

I did know that she has a huge fan base for Destinies Child, but tyhink that these fans may not be watching Strictly in large numbers.
Would to pleased to be wrong, as it would be good for the future of Ballroom and Latin dancing if a lot of young people were to become involved.

I'm hoping that next week it will be someone from the bottom section of the score board that goes home. Preferably Ann or Paul (I think that Peter is capable of making some improvement).

Will have to find my gold dancing shoes for next week!

Morning folks,
well there will be no Tina tonight due to the fact that she has chickenpox, poor girl. Let's hope she gets better for next week otherwise she will be out of the competition. Ann will be competing despite the death of her brother this week. I've been watching It Takes Two during the week and on one of the episodes they were showing how the dresses are made and we saw drawings of his weeks outfits, they look fantastic.
I won't be able to see the show live tonight as I've got to go into work for 6 o'clock tonight for 4 hours to put Xmas shop into the store, so I'll have to catch up with it on demand.
Hope you all have a good day and I'll catch you tomorrow.

Me too Helen....i won`t get to see Strictly Live, but will record it and watch it later or tommorow.... { it clashes with xfactor tonight anyway}..... at least now the results show is on Sunday I`ve got till sunday evening to catch up.

I too have been watching it takes 2...that one about the dresses was amazing...I dread to think what that must cost the BBC!...what with the fee to all the celebritys and proffessional dancers it must be one of BBC`s most expensive shows.

Nice to know where our licence money is going though hey!! lol

Scott is amazing!!!!

Still loving Matt, Scott and Jimi.

Think the judges are trying different tactics. Len being a bit harder on the contestants.

Poor old Paul, he does try but too difficult for him.

Ann, what can anyone say. Anton needs a medal for his efforts. The way he was spinning her around cos she lost her way was a classic. She wont be voted off just yet, everyone is willing her to do well.

Think it will be either Paul or Patsy this week.

I could be wrong though.

Loved it, loved it, loved it!

Even Ann attempted to dance.

Thought that Pamela looked as if she was about to faint when she had finished dancing. Maybe she just need to cool down.

Looking forward to the results tomorrow. I hope that it will be one of the less able dancers who go this time, but as I don't vote I can't really complain if one of the people I like leave.

Well just watched last night's show and I have to say that it was Ladies night, last night. And it started with Kara, who was just amazing. I must admit I'm not that fond of her, but she really has improved. Felicity was brilliant too. Even Ann was enjoyable to watch.
On the male side Scott has, in my eyes, has got himself well up the board now, I would say he's now on the heels of Matt. Peter really upped his game ( apologies for the pun) this week, I believe he is really enjoying himself now and has relaxed. Jimmy didn't seem to put any emotion into his dance.
I've saved the best til last. Pamela. was awesome, she put everything into the dance and in my eyes didn't put a foot wrong. Billy must be really proud of her.
Bottom two this week will be Paul and Patsy I think.

Did anyone hear what Felicity said ?

BBC have apologised because of her bad language !

Just seen that Brendan's father has died in NewZealand. So Brendan will be going home and will miss next weeks performance.

I though that he seemed a little subdued. Noi wonder, after getting such sad news.

My thoughts go out to Brendan and his family.

No, I didn't hear what Felicity said, but noticed that she put her hand over her mouth when talking to the judges! Think it must have been something short (but perhaps not sweet!)

Have now heard that Ian Waite will partner Michelle while Brendan is away (in New Zealand).
Didn't see anything about it on Take Two though, I was expecting it to be confirmed on air.

Julia, will you be doing The Dance of the Seven Veils" instead of the Feather Dance this year?
