Tales of a gypsy dressmaker by Thelma Madine - read it in 1 day!! 100% better than I imagined, really good. Going to re-read the L-Shaped room by Lynne Reid Banks yet again or possibly Rabbit Stew and a penny or two.

Have finished Singapore Grip Very interesting reading. I would recommend it to anyone interested in recent history.
Mainly written from the view point of civilan men, which I find quite unusall in stories about times of war.

Have also read "Rhett Butler's People" The autorized novel based on Margaret Mitchell's "Gone with the Wind"

by Donald McCaig. ( I'm not sure who authorized it!)

Good reading, an interesting take on Rhett Butler's history, including his relationship with Scarlett O'Hara.

Hadn't heard of this author before, found the book in a charity shop.
Will look out for more books by the author Donald McCaig.

I recently read A field full of butterflies, memories of a Romany childhood by Rosemary Penfold. A very good book if you are interested in the Romany life (as opposed to modern day travellers).
