	It did go up Liz, but you will have paid the rate that you joined at.

	Just had an email to inform me that to continue subscription it will be £15.96 when for years it has been £9.95. Is this standard for everyone? I've been on Genes for a few yaers now and suddenly it has jumped in price.

	I originally joined last August for 6 months as a standard member and it cost me £14.95. I have just renewed as a standard member this time for 12 months and it cost £19.95 less 20% discount so it only cost £15.96.
	Researching: I have given up trying to find any information on (1) Mother of George Wotherspoon - he was born 1759 in Old Monklands. (2) When James Patrick Clusker born 1890 married Mary Ellen Bryant in USA. (3) Information on Thomas Wotherspoon born 1901 in Fife, lived in the Huddersfield area in 1952. Photo is of me in the cloisters of Iona Abbey.

	Joy just had a read on the links you said and now I'm a bit wiser as to why. Thank you all for your replies. It was a shock to be told my subscription had gone up quite considerably. I will not be renewing my subscription as I am not on here much now. Maybe in the future I might return. Thank you again for replies. Janet

	So it still appears there is no rhyme or reason behind the subscription charges. Good job shops don´t operate the same policy & charge you according to whether your face fits or not.

	Just for info, I renewed yesterday as a standard member for 7 pound 96p. Just checked my account details, I joined in Jan 2007 & my sub expires 22 Feb 2014. :-S :-S :-S :-S
