:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D for all the poems.

Just back from Auld Reekie ......
Went to see Ardal O'Hanlon last night before the Tattoo.
He was good.
The Tattoo was really enjoyable ( although I've them before, I love the NZ dudes)
It was pouring from the heavens and we were soaked to the skin!
( Hotel room had a big jacuzzi bath.....lovely)

OFITG... I don't think I have ever seen Edinburgh so busy!!
The Grassmarket is heaving and trying to walk down the Royal Mile is a real challenge!

We are going back again on Sunday... have tickets for 3 or 4 more events .

I just had a memory flashback :-D

I'm not sure how old I was, but I was younger than 12, because it was when we still lived in Scotland. My brother was younger than 10.

Somebody came to our house and told a joke ~

How do you become a Scottish poet?

Stand by the fire until yer Rabbie Burns.

My brother went into complete hysterics, on the floor clutching his stomach, tears blinding him.

I got the joke, but didn't think it was THAT funny! Must be a male thing :-D

Nolls from Harrogate, great when their working OK but a nightmare when things go wrong :-(

I had a computer pack in on me 18 months ago, ever since then I always back up my important files, photos, and documents, on to an external hard drive, you can get a decent one for under £50 ;-)

Nolls from Harrogate Report 17 Aug 2013 15:15

Our IMac is going in for repair too.
When it started to play up last year, we managed to back everything up onto an external h/drive ....before it finally died.

We are currently in the process of backing it up again as it's going back in for repair again...this time, the disc drive isn't working.
It will play music CDs but not DVDs or CD ROMs ???

Woody's Report 20 Aug 2013 12:01

Morning fellow Scots, whether born here or not!
Congratulations on such a happy, happy thread, it's fantastic!

Golden Girl, I'm not too far from you (near Inverness) though actually from Skye. My husband was born in Aberdeen and moved to Inverness when he was 7 years old.
We do know Aberdeen though and my sister in law and several of his cousins still live there.

On the subject of meets - I'm off to Motherwell on Saturday to the Lanarkshire FH Fair. I'll be meeting a few like-minded people as they and I are members of Scotfamtree.
We've had several over the years and have met lots of people from GR and elsewhere.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Welcome Woody's,

Nice of you to pop in, my son and his family live in Elgin
at present but looking to come back to Aberdeen early
next year.
Inverness is lovely to visit and have been several times
over the years.
Have a great time in Motherwell. Take care.

Emma :-)

Welcome Woody's,

Good to hear from you - keep popping in.

I was up in your neck of the woods last week - Aviemore and Drumnadrochit and all points round about.

Ate too much, there is so much good food up there, but thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

For all you lovers of Iron-Bru :-D

Scots mum turns her classic VW Beetle into a huge can of Iron-Bru

It was made in Scotland alright, although maybe not from girders, but the owner has wowed car enthusiasts by turning her 1968 Volkswagen Beetle into a huge can of Iron-Bru
