Potty Report 29 Aug 2013 14:12

Shocked me too, Ann - the last person I would have suspected.

I was going to post about this but you have beaten me to it.

Like you I too am shocked. Especially as the downloading was as recent as last year.

Oh well I will reserve my own judgement. Will wait til the trial to see the outcome.

So sad if it is proved to be true

It is often the people that you wouldn't suspect.

That's how sex offenders get away with offences for so long , they appear to be the "nice guys" chatty, friendly all the attributes a sex offender portrays.

Overall, I don't know why people have trouble believing certain, so called celebs could do terrible things, we don't know them, we only know what there agents want us to know.

Although at this stage Rolph Harris, has been charged, there has been no trial as yet, so of course he could be an innocent man.

What an absolute eye opener if this is true,
What a let down for all who enjoyed his programmes :-(

It is difficult to believe - no doubt the truth will come out during his trial, so I will wait to see the outcome of that before I make any judgement.

AnnC has there been an update of info on this?

Emma

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 29 Aug 2013 15:08

it was on the BBC news at 1:00 - the fact that he has been charged

'Emma'

'Emma' Report 29 Aug 2013 15:20

Thanks Ann have not seen the news today.

Shocking state of affairs, why the media gives names
out and then we find out the police have not charged
some of them because there is no evidence. Damage
done to them and mud sticks so there will always be
that stigma.

about 35 years ago now he came to open a new part of a park near me and i and lots of others went to see the opening, his jokes were so blue that i was disgusted .. there were lots of children and young people there and i have never liked him since...

regardless of what you think he is like, know ones knows what he is really like, even people who live with him,

he may be innocent he may not be

so you can disbelieve all you like but till the trail no one will no for sure,

im not shocked as predators come in all shapes n sizes, its only when the victims show great strentgh that they can be any justice

It's in a 'celebrity's' best interests to be nice when they meet members of the public for 5 minutes. They know better than to present anything other than a nice friendly persona, it just wouldn't be good for their image to be rude.

~Lynda~

~Lynda~ Report 29 Aug 2013 19:16

What we all have to remember is that abusers will only portray an extremely polite, friendly and caring facade, that's how they snare their victims, they gain there trust, then, pounce, often leaving the victim in a state of disbelief as to what has happened, with child abusers, they will gain the trust of the parent, who will tell everyone what a lovely person the abuser is, leaving the child, once abused, in the position of telling on a parents friend, the abuser will know this and tell the child how the parent wouldn't believe them, and it will be "their secret", leaving the abuse to go on, and the child in turmoil.

We should bring our children up to trust, but we must tell them them, that if they are uncomfortable with how someone is behaving with them, they must tell us, no matter who the other person is.
