I was very sorry to see Angela go as I felt she had improved so much over the weeks and she is a joy to watch. I thought she danced well.

I was disappointed in Layton's dance and I don't think the outfit he was wearing helped it seemed to distract from seeing the actual dance. I usually like his dances.

Not all musicals have dancing in so don't no whether being in musicals years ago would make a difference to Nigel's dance next week.

Gosh Ellies partner is very excitable.lol/

Isn't he just, exciteable I mean. I loves Claudia's reaction.

Belle yes you are probably right she wold have. Pity there were three votes for him.

Oh that is a shame. Nigel Harman is out of strictly because of a rib injury. I wonder what they will do about an elimination tonight

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 2 Dec 2023 15:43

It's just been announced that Nigel has had to quit Strictly due to a rib injury :-(

It's up in the air as to whether there will be an elimination this evening :-0

Wishing Nigel a speedy recovery <3

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 2 Dec 2023 15:45

Sad isn't it Linda, I rather liked Nigel :-(

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 2 Dec 2023 17:30

Oh that is a shame and he was doing so well too. Disappointing for him and for us. I hope he soon recovers. It must be serious for hime to not just have a by.

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 2 Dec 2023 17:39

I was under the impression he was only out for this week, I did not realise he was out for the rest of the series, what a shame. :-(

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 2 Dec 2023 20:51

I couldn’t make out if it is his decision to actually leave or is there maybe a rule that thry can’t have a by after a certain week.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Dec 2023 21:49

If he has broken his rib and is in a lot of pain, he won’t be able to train next week, so he couldn’t take part next Saturday in any case.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 2 Dec 2023 22:31

He was obviously in pain. Nice that they gave him a farewell slot.

I think if next years' show is like this year, I will be giving it a miss. I think the cards are already stacked who will win, which is a shame.

Ellie's dance was a bit too cutesy for me, although I enjoyed it. Very flowy and pretty.

Annabell was very good again. Her confidence has grown over the weeks, and she and Johannes seem very comfortable with each other.

What a shame that Bobby did not quite get the lift right, but he is a right old snake hips. I do like to see him dance.

The send off for Nigel was lovely, like the others he had limited dancing skills, so he was going from strength to strength too.

And we rumble on again.

I just felt something was missing last night. No brilliant surprises and it seemed by just going down one couple that it was too short. I have read similar on another site as well.
I did like ellie's dance, it felt just like a scene from a stage show (I have not seen any of the shows represented.

I liked Bobbie's as well but felt he made a mistake choosing that one, too well known, although he did dance well

Predictable that Craig kept his first ten for that couple, that dance. And did we need to know that he danced it x number of years ago in that show?

I liked annabelle's dance. They are so great together

I suspect it might have been Bobbie to go if there had been a dance off.

Is there still a results show this evening Did they say? I didn't watch right to the credits as I switched to the recording of the voice.

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 3 Dec 2023 10:44

I thought the same about last night's show, AnnG something was missing :-0

Did I see the lovely Amy dancing in the opening group number, I only saw the end of it...if I did, so pleased for her <3

It was nice to see Nigel but he was obviously in pain<3. I suppose if it was going to happen better in the rehearsals than in the live show :-0. I agree with Linda that Nigel wouldn't be able to fully train next week with his rib injury but also we are now that far into the competition I'm not sure that a bye would be fair :-0

Now to the dances :-D

Ellie's Quickstep - She did very well to dance with the other dancers and not look out of place. I don't think it was her best dance, I can't put my finger on it but there was something lacking in it :-0

Annabel's Foxtrot - I think Craig was so right when he pointed out that she is now the only non-actor left in the competition, she has done so well to not only to dance the dances but also to put so much feeling into them too :-). Jo Jo was lovely as usual <3

Layton's Paso - It definitely was a show dance but was it really a Paso :-0. I find with Layton he dances very well side by side but not so well in hold and there wasn't much in hold last night :-0. With his dancing background it would be expected for him to shine in musical week but I'm not so sure everyone in this series has started on a level playing field :-0

Bobbie's Salsa - such a pity that 'the lift' didn't happen:-(. Dianne obviously didn't feel confident enough to put her arms out because her balance wasn't right :-( That is the problem with such an iconic lift everyone knows what to look for :-0. I thought Dianne looked absolutely stunning in her brown wig though :-)

So if there was to be an elimination this week, I think it would have been Bobbie but who knows if there was a dance off he might have got 'the lift' right :-D

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 3 Dec 2023 10:49

or they might have both toppled over :-D

JustGinnie Report 3 Dec 2023 11:31

I felt the same about last nights show it did feel as if there was something missing perhaps they all felt a bit shocked about Nigel as the accident only happened on the afternoon. He did well to be able to speak on the evening, I know only too well how much it hurts when you damaged your ribs . Such a shame for him as he was looking forward to Musical week. It must have been a wake up call for the others that the lifts etc can go wrong.

No dance off this week but I believe the show will be on perhaps more pro dancers with a singer.

With my 2 favourites Angela S and Nigel now gone I would like Ellie to win .

I think the show needs to up it's game next year if it is still on and have a more level playing field with the celebs and their dance experience.

Semi finals on now. Enjoy everyone

LindainHerriotCountry

I think Annabelle will go tonight. Whoever she is in the dance off with, the judges will vote her off. She has done so well, but to be fair, she is the weakest dancer.

Layton doesn’t seem to get the public vote, so I think that it will be odds on that Ellie will win next week.

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 10 Dec 2023 07:27

Didn't they all do so well having to dance two different dances :-)

I still feel Layton has too much of an advantage to be in this competition. I didn't particularly like his Rumba, I thought there was suppose to be slow swaying and circular movements :-0 Although his Charleston was spectacular but what else would you expect from his background :-0

I liked Ellie's Cha Cha Cha but wasn't so keen on her Couples Choice :-0

Bobbie did look very much the part in both his dances, loved his Quickstep :-)

For me Annabel is the epitome of what this competition is all about being a complete
non-dancer :-). I thought she did very well in both her dances :-). I'd love to see her in the Final but I fear that if she is in the dance off The Judges will vote her out :-(

Of course, it is all down to the public vote....who knows the public might want to see Annabel in the Final :-)

I wonder who The Judges would choose if Ellie and Layton were in the dance off:-0 :-0

I agree with you Linda about the voting in the Final....Layton has his following but I don't think it is as large as the others and for that reason I don't think he will win :-0

MotownGal Report 10 Dec 2023 08:16

Thank goodness it is the Finals next week, and we can stop the Charade! Craig was even more dramatical last night.

I noticed when the professional dancer to Ellie, Bobbie and Annabel made their little speech, they all made a point of saying their partner had not had any dancing experience before the competion started.

I noticed that Laytons charleston was very similar to the dance in Singing in the Rain, with Gene Kelley and Donald O'Connor, down to the check suits. Of course it was very physical he is a dancer.

Loved little Bobbie in his tails, but his Paso was very good. When he dragged Dianne off, all I could think of was John Sargeant and his Paso. :-D :-D

Loved little Ellie. She seems to have turned into a woman overnight with her dancing. Her cha cha was very mature. :-)

Annabel I could shout from the rooftops. She has overcome a lot this year, and this competition has pushed her forward. But unfortunately she will be the one to go I think.

I just wish all the rabble rousing from the dancers would tone down a bit, even Claudia is having trouble speaking over them.

I agree. I feel Strictly has lost its way somewhat. ;-)
