I can't resist this one, apparently the islands in the Hauraki Gulf are called------ Nga poitu-o-te-kupenga-a-tarama-inuku rival for the Welsh long name possibly. Vivienne xx

Huia Report 14 May 2006 21:35

I dont think there is a Niue in NZ. There is an island of that name up in the Pacific, admin by NZ. We might be taking our elderly cat and dog to the vet to be put down. As OH said this morning, the only time they seem happy is when they are sleeping or eating. Both coming up for 15 years old. When cat gets up from her sleep she has trouble walking. Getting worse. Until last Jan/Feb our dog used to love going on long walks (2 hrs) with the boss but now not so keen, particularly if it involves uphill, which it does where we live. If you dont see me again for a while I will be weeping my eyes out. (But at least we can now go on hols together again, one consolation).

Oh Huia, I'm so sorry. If it's any consolation they will be waiting for you by rainbow bridge. Take care, thinking of you Vivienne xx

Hi there Huia, Just came in from gardening & read your message. Very sorry to hear about the predicament that your now facing with your pets...really feel for you & know the thoughts & feelings so well myself. Previously I had a little sheltie & tabby cat.. both female. They both had good long lives & could'nt see them suffer anymore...loved them dearly, just like my kids. After some time, found myself the proud owner of a female border collie & 2 male cats...they are wonderful company. Shall be thinking of you, it's ok Huia, we'll understand if your not here, come back to us when you feel up to things.. Yes..Niue is an Island re NZ rule...ok if we move on to the 'O'? Take care, Carol
