Find Living Relatives

I am in England and looking for members of the family of ELDRIDGE I used to know who left here in 1948 on the Mooltan and landed in Fremantle, Australia.
My mother was their cousin.
The children were June and Jeffery and were in their teens at the time.
The family possibly stayed around Perth?

Surnames of spouses in the next generation:
- ANDERSON, McDANIEL and PERRET-CLAPHAM.

Assuming they remained in Western Australia, there is a problem searching for BMD.
According to the WA government site, online records are only available for the following years

I've a suspicion that Ancestry is playing up at the moment as the only record for Tilden is when his family arrived. Could he have been known by another name or a diminutive?

Have you messaged the people who have supplied the additional surnames? Have you checked All Members Trees on this site? Select that option from the drop down Search menu, top right of the page.

Looking on the White Pages online phone book, there is an entry for a J S Eldridge with the same code. Could they be related or is just a coincidence?

The owner of this tree, a 'one name' research, I think is unlikely to know any more than he says in the first paragraphs......
Tilden is obviously a family first name.

We knew the parents as Connie and Theo.
'Jeffery Theodore William' is right in 2003, but no contact?

I have messaged an Evan Eldridge on GR but no answer yet.
And, I think Constance is possibly still alive. (No death found...85?)

They're all so long ago that its not worth contacting the crematorium/cemetery or funeral directors. Although they wouldn't give out contact addresses, there's an outside chance they'd pass on a letter.

Possibly Constance living with her parents - the closed records are likely to be June & Jeffrey. No sign of Tilden, unless he was in the Forces?

I didn't know about Theo being a special trainee in Slough, although I have found lots of electoral roll records later in Australia and I knew he was a railway engineer.
I will add this to his life file.

And although I have lots of information about Wales, the 1939 records weren't available when I was doing that! I can add this in the right places too.

Re the business link for Jeffrey. As it became inactive in 2003, could he have retired?
Although hopefully he is living, he'd now be aged 84. Similarly June will be about 86. Even when the people are our contemporaries, we do sometimes have to 'do the math'.

As you have a number of addresses, either from ER or correspondence, the Ask the Librarian might be able to trace them forward.

They might be willing to give you the name of the funeral director who could facilitate contact with the person who arranged the funeral.

There a couple of entries for a J C Anderson on the whitepages, although I've no idea where the places are in relation to Karrakatta/Dianella suburb.

Tilden's military records would be with the MOD. Should you be so inclined, you could order a copy for £30. Don't worry about not having a service no. as you already have his DOB. They could take a number of months to arrive.
