Greeting's Again Beverley.... I have sent you a scan of the original Census return via your E-mail address...... So you can try and work it out from that .... There is three surnames in the household Collman, Page and Hadden. Plus I may have mis understood the Jane seeing that there was a sister to William Named ' Eliza Jane' of the right age and was thinking she used her middle name on later Census and that was the Jane you were seeking ....Sorry.... MIKE. Sarah... Just to say I've amended the 1861. Census return Forgot to put in that Sarah was a Sister-in-Law to Enoch Brown....sorry

Mike, thanks for all you have done, I have moved on loads because of it. Problem though! The 1861 shows Daniel Staniforth as a widow. (RG 9 / 2264 / Page. 33. Earl Shilton) I didn't know he had previously married! And who is the William, is it his?? His son William (my gt grandad) was born in 1868, so this either wasn't his son, or more likely with my lot had died by 1868 (they did enjoy naming more than one the same name). I have found a poss first marriage for Daniel in 1852, to either an Elizabeth or Emma. Could you check your burials to see if an Elizabeth or Emma Staniforth died between 1852 and 1861??? The 1852 marriage was in Market Bosworth. Sorry to be a pain, and I owe you the biggest box of chocs ever!! Sarah

Greeting's again Sarah...... Sorry my slip up the 1861 census return was in fact for Barwell.and NOT Earl Shilton..I've amended last message.... William Jnr aged 5 ....Umm...... Pass ..lol Is this the one which he took Game keeping with in Derbyshire ?.... If you click on my name and send me your E-mail address then I can send you the Scan from the original Census return, so you will see it states Grandson of William Head of Household. In the meantime I'll whizz around my disks to see what I can come up with .... MIKE. PS. Sorry Choc's are OFF the menu.....:0(

Mike, have emailed you! Had guessed it was Barwell, Farmer and the pub gave that one away!! And the gamekeeper was on the other side of the tree...... saying that, it could be the same one, they tended to marry each other regularly enough!!!! Sarah

That's very kind, Mike, thanks again. The IFEs travelled well. In 1841 John was in Suffolk. In 1848 he married Jane in Wolverhampton Registration District. In 1849 Anna was apparently born in Staffs. In 1851 they were in Leicestershire, by 1854 in Derbyshire. Then they settled down. Thanks again, Chris

Anyone wanting to follow progress on the new LRFHS centre go their website: www*lrfhs*org*uk Re Baptist records: found out this weekend that actually our records are kept at the Record Office in Wigston. We have a list for where people are buried (though many don't have headstones) but no one knows of a burial register. The Baptists don't have christenings (infant baptism) but often do have a a service of dedication; there may be a mention on the Cradle Roll (at least in more recent times) but no details. I guess the only official records will be the marriage register. My father-in-law was telling us that a previous minister decided to have a clear-out and ended up burning at least 10 years of church records!!!! Jan
