Hi Rob

let's wait and see what that certificate says, and then see what others you'll need.

OH has Taylors, from Yorkshire, in his family. I regularly give up on them :)))

(and on him :))))) )

No Cyn can't be related then my lot never lived north of Watford. Tell a lie a gt gt gt grandmother lived in Liverpool briefly with her 1st husband, she probably could'nt understand the accent and came back to London lol

Cynthia Report 24 Jan 2011 13:30

My lot (actually OH's lot), had probably never even heard of Watford!

Scouse is one dialect which our JC simply cannot understand apparently!! Wonder why?? lol

Apologies Robbie lad, we're hijacking your thread.......;))

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 24 Jan 2011 18:54

and my lot seem to have moved between Yorkshire and Westmorland, with the odd side trip to Lancashire and Cheshire

Robert

Robert Report 24 Jan 2011 22:34

Sylvia you're a rum one hehehe!!

I agree Taylor doesn't sound like a foreign name does it? Seeing as Taylor is supposed to be a derivative of Tailor to sew cloth make clothes ect, in other words it's a job name huh? And I'm sure the Dutch Germans had an appropriate name for it, what d'ya reckon?

Cynthia, it's ok hon Your all mad so I'll let you off :)

Jax...I'de love to be your cousin, ( especially with your Genealogical know how ::))))) xx

SylviaInCanada Report 25 Jan 2011 04:08

yeah

'cept they belong to OH!

and wait till I get onto OH's other families ..... some of 'em were apparently Quakers. Lived in Lancashire till the persecution got bad, then moved to Westmorland. Stayed there until persecution, etc. Then they moved back to Lancashire

AND they all used the same forenames over and over again!

try finding out the birth places of their kids, or their marriages!

and then there were the Welsh ones, who seem to add and subtract names at will

mind you, Janey's the one for having ancestors who change names willy nilly!

I am hard pushed to see what we can do with the Taylors. If grandad William Corry Taylor was born in Rhodesia, the I am a bit lost. Did he die in the UK? Loads of Wiliam C Taylors in Free BMD. Bob, do you know when he died?

Sorry Bobso.
