Well done AustinQ. Samuel's mother's maiden name was Hyndman. As it's Hyman that explains why it was not showing when I put Hyndman in.

There is an occupation of Brownstone miner so you've read that correctly.

Oh my goodness :):):)
Are you all professional Genealogists, this is amazing !
I am so sorry I didn't come on line earlier:( Think I was not broadening my searches enough, can't thank you all enough :)
I will follow up and get copies of the registrations.
Samuel was still alive when Sarah died, living at 16 Park Drive Blairgowrie, her death was reported by R Thompson, son in law.
I will create another tree for the Hastie family, perhaps a time line first and tag it to the Alexander Innes tree my grandfather's tree, which I'm still working on. Not missing any ancestors there:)
She was adopted/fostered by the Hossack family from Banff, her name was not changed, she had 9 children, 20 grandchildren and till now I'm still adding GGC & GGGC to the tree:)
Wow!! still bewildered as to how all this info was found and so quickly too.
Many, many thanks Jeanette

The only known daughter that we haven't found a marriage for is Mary b. abt. 1904. Not seeing a marriage for her on SP to an R. Thompson. Is it definitely Thompson with a "p" . The more usual Scottish spelling is Thomson. It is always possible, I suppose that Sarah Ann had more children than we've found.

Seems rather sad that Elizabeth was the only child not with her in 1911 but it's good to know she had a happy life with her adopted parents.

ArgyllGran Report 2 Jun 2017 12:58

Possibly Mary's birth - but I don't see her definitely after that, either, nor any link to an R Thompson;

Jeanette Report 2 Jun 2017 19:37

Yes she sure was !! Lol
The amount of details you have all found in such a short time is unbelievable!!
Very much appreciated :)
I can hardly keep up making sense of all the details!
Have a line on Samuel in the valluation rolls 1925/26 that he was a tenant and a laborer at 8 Pattinson Street, Paisley which is the same address David put as his address when he left for Canada. So that's another confirmation.
Whenever Samuel is mentioned on the birth registrations he is either a carter or a laborer but he is not mentioned in any of the censuses only Sarah Ann as Head.
Which may make sense because he was at sea, while she was .....
But looks like they were still together at the end.
Will continue to look for the kids & GKs.
Thanks so much,
Jeanette :)
