I'm thinking this is the family in 1911. Places of birth are incorrect, but all seems to fit. Bear in mind that Annie is already accounted for in Antrim in 1911:

I think that Peter must have died then, because Peter Snr and Annie Scullion had a son Peter, the one who was reported missing at sea/

Yes, I thought that too. I have looked for a death for him and his mother in New York but don't see them. Have tried looking for incoming passenger lists but I think maybe Ancestry is better than FMP for that.

Is there any way of finding Margaret Allison/Ellison's birth in USA, to find her parents?

A female Kelly was born on board City of Berlin, 31st May, 1883, to Peter Kelly and Mary nee Carr.

You need a copy of the Ellison/Kelly marriage cert to find out Margaret's father's name.


If her age at death is correct, there's this baptism - BUT I have no idea if that's her. We don't know where in the USA your Margaret was born.
I imagine Peter met her while he was living in New York - but she wasn't necessarily born there:

Ah, I have found a snag. If that Margaret Allison/Ellison is in the 1900 USA census, she can't be marrying Peter Kelly in England in 1899.

This is Peter Kelly's/ Margaret Ellison's daughter, Ellen. She isn't with her father on the 1911 census. She is staying with her Uncle and Aunt- Bernard and Mary Conway (nee Kelly). Presumably Mary is Peter's sister (or close family member):

No, mine is no good either, Margaret Allison is in the 1900 census with married name of Cable.

I have found another record with clearer writing which shows that Peter Snr's mother wasn't Donlan, but Conlan or even Conlin.

Given that we've now found Peter's sister marrying in Dungannon, I'm certain the possible marriage I posted earlier is correct:
