Hi there
Trying to find information on any relatives of the Ropers or Truemans.
The Truemans used to live at 26 Shaftesbury Square, Rotherham in 1911 and then 186 Doncaster Road in 1912. There was husband John Edward (born in Worksop in 1880) and wife Clara (nee Beaman, born in Leeds 1879) plus children (I won't name them all). They married in 1903 in Leeds (Clara had previously been married (1896) to John Davison from Seaham Harbour, Durham). Clara died in 1912.
The Ropers lived at, in 1911, 43 Shaftesbury Square, Rotherham. There was John Thomas Roper (b 1889 Morley) and Sarah Roper (nee Beaman, b 1887, Clara's sister) and their children. They married in 1905. In 1917 they were living at 28 Shaftesbury Square.
Tried searching for their children from early 1920's but drawing a blank so far.
Thank you.
Denise and Peter

Hi there
Firstly many thanks for the replies.
ErikaH, that is very interesting info regarding the year 1939 and 1950. Will definitely look into those two items. As regards websites only used genesreunited.co.uk..
Greyghost, yes had noticed the Forces info, but was confused as there were also the references to civilian births.
Really appreciate the help, as new to all this.
Have got all Roper children up to 1926, 14 in all but quite a few deaths.
Regarding the Trueman got all children up to 1912, which was Clara's death (mother).

For the marriages of Alice, Albert and Agnes, you should be able to find birth records on the freebmd site.

Was meaning to have an early night, so that's it for now !!

Denise

Denise Report 1 Mar 2019 08:31

Hi greyghost
Wow, that's amazing what you've found!
We've got a possibility of Alice marrying a Buckley in 1925, Albert a Simmons in 1923 or Seagrove in 1925, and Agnes possibly marrying a Tayor in 1932. This seems to be confirmed with your findings.
The death of Winifred in 1918 is useful as couldn't find any other info for her.
The Trueman family info that we've got is John and Clara (d1912), Thomas, Margaret and William (Davison from first marriage to John Davison), John Edward Davison (lived with grandfather Edward Beaman), then Alice, Albert, Agnes, Winifred and Herbert. Now know Winifred and Herbert died.
The military info is really useful. We haven't got access to info like that or if we have haven't found how to use it.
Will have a look at the freebmd site.
Find things confusing at times as people pop up then disappear then reappear with years missed out. Suppose it was the poor record keeping of the times.
Sorry to keep you up but your help has been invaluable.
Once again, thank you.
