Jonesey, have you ever wondered if, when relatives receive a windfall from someone they didn't even know existed, they give some of it to the person who has cared for the deceased? It always seems sad that those who have loved and cared for someone but are not blood relations, are not entitled to a share of the estate. Such is life.........

I am here.

I have a few days off over the next few weeks to study.

I was on my course yesterday and OH went off for his blood test.

He had not returned when I got back home.

It seems he spent the afternoon in the archives at Greenwich and came back with a book and some photo copies showing the streets around the Naval college and hospital school where lots of my ancestors came from.

He also went on the cable car across the Thames.

Sounds like he is doing well LK - I am so pleased for you both.

There may be some beneficiaries who do pass on a bit of their good fortune to the carers but I suspect that most don't. They may of course not be made fully aware of the extent of the services and help that the non-entitled carers provided to the deceased.

The people who I feel sorry for are those who are prevented from inheriting by virtue of the rigidity of the law. People such as unadopted step children, those adopted out of a family perhaps after a marriage breakdown.

had the most incredible weather last night ......... lightening, thinder, very heavy rain "squalls" for want of a better word.

It started just before 7 pm, and went on until around midnight



it came up from the south, the USA! :-D


Today is cloudy, and MUCH cooler that it has been.

OH has to go for a glucose tolerance (intolerance) test in the morning at 8.30am. Then he has to sit in the waiting room for 2 hours when they will re-test him. :-S :-S


It's also a fasting test, so no food till about 11am...... :-S :-S :-S


Problem is, we don't know how slow he will be in the morning - he will need to take meds which is okay apparently, but they don't always kick in straight away :-S :-S :-S :-S


We'll just have to wait and see........
