I guess you're too young (haha) to remember the original Sweeney programme Gins. I always thought John Thaw was sooooooooooooo attractive. I think I like craggy men!

I told my OH about your success Sylvs and he was very impressed!

Having done my homework, I trailed off with daughter and she bought her new tv. Mind you, the salesman tried to sell us everything other gizmo which could accompany it of course!

Dea, I always look at the customer reviews on Amazon too..... :-D

Ah well, it's Chinese meal night. :-D :-D

.........but I have seen re runs LOVE it and John Thaw

We have 'old people's' bungalows at the back of us which is great because they don't ';overlook'

However - MANY years ago we must have had a very deaf one who suffered from insomnia because he had his TV on at full blast all night and it was summertime so we all had our windows open :-( :-( :-(

My son had the back bedroom and could not get to sleep!

I was about to go round and 'discretely' ask them to lower the volume but it suddenly stopped. - I think they must have ????? - Never heard of again ................

I've just made a quick slice of toast as am in a rush........catch you later..~~~~

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 23 Sep 2012 07:41

good morning C!

yep ........ spending again ...............

a major department store, Sears, in downtown is closing at the end of this month .............. the mall offered them multi-million dollars if they would leave before the end of their lease (still had 3 years to run).

Store agreed.

Nordstrom's, a very famous, upscale store is replacing them, after major major renovations have been done.

Suspicion is that Mall owners had already a deal with Nordstrom's before they offered to buy back Sears' lease! Savvy mall owners do not let stores out of leases when they would be looking at an empty building

It also happened in 2 other malls ...... in Calgary and Ottawa.

Some really good bargains ..................... like 70% off already reduced by 50% spring and summer fashions.

I looked all over this spring for cream, ivory or white short-sleeved, non-fussy, cotton tops. Couldn't find a single one! All ruffley and lacy, or "hard" colours.

Sears had loads of them, different styles, last week ....... so I went back and got a few more, at an average price of about $9 for tops that originally cost over $50 :-D
