the turkey was delicious


but I got it wrong ................


it was half a turkey breast from neck to t'other end, not half a turkey.


No leg or wing .................. so no dark meat


and I love dark meat :((((


However, turkey sandwiches with white meat will be just fine for the next few days :))))

Oh yes! Have you tried the new Search feature and the new Keepsafe button above?

I tried the search feature yesterday but, whilst it could be helpful to some, I think we could end up sending lots of messages to 'possibles' connections rather than definite ones.

If people labelled their photos in a clearer fashion - with dob....pob etc. it would be easier to search eg. there are too many Mary Smith's to enable you to choose which maybe yours, especially as the pictures are mostly pixilated for privacy. Take a look and see what you think.

That's what I buy nowadays at Christmas time - a Turkey breast joint. Being only two of us it is much more practical and there is plenty left over for sandwiches.

I DON'T BELIEVE IT !!!!!

I had a phone call today from a very polite Indian gentleman and I was very polite in return !

He wanted to ask some questions re my TV supplier - I politely told him that I do not get involved in telephone surveys - he assured me that it was not just a normal survey but was particularly targeted to my address (which he quoted) and that I would never receive further contact from them again.

I re-iterated that I don't do telephone surveys and said that I must now go !!

His reply was:

In that case 'Maam', I will make sure that you receive a call like this every day from now on !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was almost speechless but did give him a 'mouthfull' back.!! Unfortunately, I think he cut off too early to hear it !!!

Just let him try !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A suggestion. Go to the site below and register your telephone number, it is free to do so. No guarantee that it will stop your Indian gentleman or any other telephone sales, surveys or scam calls reaching you but it is possible that it may help to reduce them.

Once your number has been registered any company who cold calls you without your permission is breaking the law. If found to be making such unsolicited calls to registered numbers regularly they are liable to receive a very hefty fine. Last week 2 such companies were fined £2.5 million each.

If you do receive any unsolicited marketing calls in the future just ask the caller for their company name and advise them that you will be reporting them to TPS for further action.

If it's the same as it is here in Canada it doesn't help by being on the "Do not call" list. It only prevents calls made from inside the country and, as you know most calls originate in India or Pakistan.

I have just 'dug out' my 'rape alarms' which I used to carry about my person when walking the streets of Barcelona at night alone (in the course of my employment as a tourist guide, you understand!!) ;-) :-D :-D

Anyway - they have new batteries fitted now and if he calls again he will get one at full blast down the phone which will, at the very least, burst an eardrum !!!

I don't think he will phone a third time !!! :-D
