The Usherette? Those were the days. How we looked forward to the interval.

I remember an item from the 'News' bit on the Two Ronnies Show once.....something like

"Ada Jones, an usherette at the Brighton Odeon caused chaos today when she sat on her torch and showed herself up". :-D

Hope your M.O.T. goes well Sylvs..... <3

Had our jabs - no probs. Assembled the little treadmill quite easily. It folds up nicely and doesn't take up too much room.

Have been ironing and rooting around in WW1 records. Just come up for a breath of fresh air......

:-D :-D

4 year old grandson said to me on the way home tonight - "Grannie - why are they called fire 'works' ???

They could be fire rockets or fire crackles or fire sparkles but fire 'works' isn't right ??

Astute, or what - I had to agree with him !

Does anyone have the answer?

OH phoned the hospital a little while ago ............ his sister was in ICU, still very groggy, but they let him speak to her.

It is 90% certain that there is some cancer there.
:-( :-( :-(

The question is, how much and has it spread?

They will determine that, then decide on the treatment.

he still has to go to China ......... so I'll be the link between him and his sister (and her daughter who is the official NOK)

Oh Sylvia - such awful news about your s-i-l - Let's just hope that they have caught it early enough to be able to deal with it effectively !!!

It is doubly worrying for your OH having to go away at this time. :-( :-( :-(

We will all be thinking of you all and wishing her well ! <3 <3

Thanks for the breakfast - very welcome on this cold and horrible morning!

See you all later,

So sorry to hear that Sylvs. Hope it works out well <3

Thank you for the breakfast - I will have porridge today please.

No grandchildren this week so, the world is, my oyster - or probably, in my case, my shrimp!

Sylv, so sorry to hear about your SiL :-( Lets hope they have caught it good and early.

I am back home!

Had a fab time and last night we had a really really fun evening. A group of 'seniors' arrived during the afternoon for their Christmas 'do'. Last night the entertainment was a Christmas quiz

We all joined in and had a real giggle with the old ladies on the next table!

Me and JB came second (by one point) to a mother and daughter that we met at the hotel! Cocktails all round :-D

Met some nice people and had some brilliant laughs in the bar at night. I think Ricky (head bar geezer) must have took a shine to us, he kept passing over free 'taster' drinks

Hope you lot are all OK?

Dea

Dea Report 6 Nov 2012 16:18

That sounds really wonderful Ginns - I wish I had been there !!

Must start going 'out and about' again - haven't done that in over 4 years and am now out of the habit :-(

You tend to forget that there is 'fun' out there !

Nice to have you back though.

Dea, youre right, you can get into the habbit of staying in.

This morning after breakfast we went onto the sea front and played air hocky......we were in fits of laughter, mainly because JB couldnt stop laughing at me 'screaming' when I got a goal!

It was a draw in the end as we decided, NOT to have a decider!

It's nice to be home though, thank you Dea <3

OH is now at the airport ....... he ordered a taxi when he saw how wet it was ........ otherwise he would have walked the 15-20 minutes to the subway station to take the train to the airport.

Thank you all for your kind words about sis-i-l.

now we wait for the pathology to be done, and to find out what the next steps will be.
