Good morning :-D
It's the same here Dea........spose we'd better get used to it for a while :-(
Lovely breakfast Sylvs - thank you <3
OH is having sleeping probs at the moment - he can't get comfy anywhere so he's trotting round trying out his bed, and all the chairs.......it reminds me of when the children were small and they got overtired. Funny thing is, he can get comfy in the day :-S
If all goes to plan we may wander into town and pick up his new specs. That should be fun............not! ;-)
Off to see if I am going to be side-tracked again ;-)

Oh, did I say what had happened to my card after it had been declined at the Coop?
I checked the ballance when I got back and it was fine (I did tell you that bit) but then I fogot about it until Saturday...........
Phoned HSBC, got put through to the fraud team. They had marked my card as being used for fraud :-0
When I asked why, they mumbled something about my post code. I couldnt understand the nice lady in India, so after asking for more detail (about 3 times) I gave up
I am now off the fraud listing and am free to use my card :-S

now I am the opposite!
I hate debit cards ......... but I do use credit cards .... or cash.
No problem with credit cards IF you pay them off every month ...... which we do.
we never buy anything unless we know the money is in the bank to pay for it ......................
Banks no longer pay interest on money in accounts (apart from ING) ................. but they used to, and it was one way to get a little extra interest paid in :-D Leave the money in there and let the credit card company (ie bank) hang fire for 3 weeks or so :-D :-D :-D

I see your point
I do get interest on a black balance, I reckon I can buy a bubble gum at the end of the year with it!

Good news about your card Gins.
I always use my debit card as the money is taken almost straight away and I know where I am. I only use the credit card when buying large items....eg fridge etc.
Like Sylvs, we never buy anything unless we know we can pay for it. We never use our overdraft for instance. If we can't afford summat then we don't buy it.......simples :-D
It's been a miserable day all day.... :-( OH has got his new glasses and they must be okay because he hasn't mentioned them. He's probably forgotten :-D
I've been thinking about getting him so new pyjamas but, as he likes the tie waist rather than the elastic waist, it's proving difficult. M & S only do bottoms and not top with a tie. In the end, I looked on Amazon and found some made by Tootle. Hopefully, the quality will be ok.... :-S
I'm partway through my Christmas cards and have been very brave and taken some off the list......... hope no one is mortally offended, it's just that the cost of postage is so awful. :-
See you tomorrow......night night......~~~~

Cyn,
I read in the newspaper that it is expected that there will be up to 25% fewer Christmas cards sent this year largely due to the increased postal charges.
Just a thought, if you know peoples email address why not send them an eCard? There are numerous eCard companies, most of them offering free cards.

and, boy, are we mad that you got him!!!
He's the reason why Canada did not join the US, or the UK, in having major problems since 2008.
The country, while running a debt, is still considered "in the black" even during that horrendous time.
We can but hope that he will be able to groom someone in his image during the next 6 months.
It is actually interesting ................. he took himself out of the running for the job a few months ago, but has now said that the task is so intriguing, and will be so difficult, that he just could not resist it.
He is the first non-British born Governor
His appointment, like all Governors of the Bank of England, had to be approved by the Queen
All Governors get "tapped on the shoulder" ........... the title "Sir" goes with the job ........... but he is Canadian-born, and Canada does not allow its citizens to accept titles from foreign countries.
Think Conrad Black, who had to give up his Canadian citizenship to accept his honour ........ and is now fighting to get his citizenship back.
It will be interesting to see what Mark Carney does.
