Afternoon! Not stopped since 5.45! Daughter's birthday and I have been busy as well as going you know where :-D


Can't do much right at the moment - she gets sooooo stressed and has so many expectations on her birthday that it's hard to please her. In fact.......it's always a difficult day. Such a shame cos I always try and do my best but..........am glad when it's over :-( Ah well..........

My poor GD has chickenpox :-(

Aww - poor little GD, Linds!

I remember when my grandchildren had chickenpox - 1st was little grand-daughter, she was quite poorly but it only lasted a short while. The awkward thing was that it happened just as they were moving house.

She was with us all day and was going to stay overnight but we ended up taking her home once they had got the beds set up so that she could cuddle up with mummy ;-)

Little grandson was the worst - he was extremely brave as always but he was only two and he had large spots all inside his mouth and on his tongue so he could not eat anything.

He was SO hungry that I tried him with a little bit of warm rice pudding and his mouth flew at the spoon just like a little bird wanting to be fed but he only managed one spoonful, making little whimpering noises as it hurt his mouth so much.

He slimmed down quite a bit around that time but luckily he was carrying a 'bit extra' so he managed to get away with it.

Hope she is better soon.

Have put the breakfast on! - everything is cooking and sizzling nicely and the cold hame and cheeses, cereals, crackers, fruits and yoghurts, croissants and danish pastries etc. are set out.

Porridge is done and tea and coffee is at the ready!

Help yourselves.............

How busy must everyone be when they haven't come for breakfast! Looks like its just you and me again :-(

your poor grandson wee soul. My GD is only two also but she has been good just a bit clingy with Mummy which is allowed bless.

Ok off to do some housework will check in again later but just in case I wish everyone a Happy New Year.

Ah well, it was all as I thought it would be......................arrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh


Will be doing some ironing to calm my frazzled nerves.... ;-)


and Dea........I'm no angel - believe me - I feel extremely unangelic at the moment - a pair of horns and cloven feet would be more like it ;-)

For various reasons - I can't stay up till midnight tonight to see the New Year in BUT, I would like to invite you all to an early celebration!!

I have made loads of ham, pork, turkey sandwiches with apple sauce and stuffing etc !!

Lot of pickles and savoury crisps and dips !

Trifle, mince pies, cheese platters and grapes...............

Cheese quiches etc for Ginns + mushrooms etc.....

Hot baby sausages and home made sausage rolls !!

Fruit juices, cava, wines, champagne !..........

I do hope you will all join me in the early evening

MANY boxes of chocolates to be eaten up !

I doubt we will be staying up till midnight either to be honest. We often go to bed at our normal time on NYE.


It used to be different when Andy Stewart was hosting his programme from Scotland though.........we would sit glued to the set whilst he sang " I am a soldier, a Scottish soldier" and "Donnie, where's yer trewsers?". Moira Stewart would sing too. Ah, the good old days. :-D
