Happy St George's Day .

Sounds like everyone has a busy day today.

Dea we had the grandchildren Saturday and Sunday we normally have them tomorrow BUT OH has got a meeting in Edinburgh tomorrow.

So now I have to decide can I cope on my own???

I can if its only for a few hours but its normally a whole day thing oh decisions decisions ;-)

Afternoon all and a Happy St. George's Day - or at least, what is left of it.

OH has altered his morning routine and it's thrown me out completely!! Well, as regards getting on here it has.......:-S

Never mind, no doubt I will sort myself out soon......................

As soon as his meds kicked in, off we went shopping and looking at furniture. I am hoping to change our three piece suite in the not too distant future but want to take my time over it.

We trailed round several shops and so, by the time we had finished, he just about made it back to the car......... :-D

Linds.....make the most of having the little ones while you can......they grow up so quickly. From having ours regularly twice a week, it has gradually diminished to 'occasionally' as and when needs arise. They are now teenagers with their own social agenda - but I do miss them.

Going for a browse around and then some messaging.........

Ok now the sun is out so I am going to get the bedding out just love the smell of bedding thats been dried outside :-D

OH has asked me to shorten the trousers he wants to wear tomorrow to his day out in Edinburgh. I hate shortening trousers :-|

Cynthia I do love to have the wee ones but the baby is only 5 months and still strange at times when her Mum isn't around. Also its ok when the two of us are here but would be on my own tomorrow and don't know if my ears can take it :-D

Might just say to DIL that will take them but only for a couple of hours ;-)

It won't be long now before your daily appointments have ended, will it??

Linda

it does seem a bit too much to handle a 5month old and a toddler by yourself, for all day.

I know I wouldn't be able to handle just one of them for longer than a couple of hours!

would it thoroughly disrupt your d-i-l's plans if you only had them for a couple of hours???

Dea

Dea Report 23 Apr 2013 20:10

I agree with Sylvia Linds - just do a couple of hours - all day with the two of them on your own will be far too much !!!

Yes Sylvs - 2 more weeks to go !! :-D

Good morning and thank you Dearest Dea...... :-D

Thank you for the breakfast but I am just going to have something very, very light. I'm off to see my health trainer in an hour and I really, really want her to be pleased with me.

I think Sylvs was at the physio yesterday wasn't she? Maybe she has tied herself in knots.......... :-0

Linds - you've brought back some memories. There's only 14 months separating my two grandchildren, so it was a bit like looking after twins. I used to get up at the crackus of dawn a couple of mornings a week and take a 20 min drive to see to them. After the parents had gone to work, I would get the children washed and dressed and drive them back to ours for the day.

I spent a lot of time pushing a twin buggy up and down the lanes near to where we lived......it was easier than trying to cope with them in the house!! As they got older, I arranged my routine around watching CBeebies and going to the local park - I could do housework another day!

We bought a second hand playpen which came in useful for popping the youngest one in if I was distracted elsewhere.

It was pointless buying loads of toys - my pans, wooden spoons and large cardboard boxes were much more entertaining!!

Fortunately, OH was around at meal times so that helped.

I absolutely loved it...........mind you, I was a lot younger then!!!! ;-)

Off for a quick browse before I step on the scales...... :-(

Hello everyone,

DIL got back about 2.30 we had lunch and she took the girls home.

I have just about got the house back to normal and even managed to get a washing hung out :-D

Linda

Linda Report 24 Apr 2013 18:48

Cynthia,

Only 14 months apart that is like twins! I have twin brothers who were born just as I was studying for my O Level exams.

I know how much work they are thank goodness DIL didn't have twins at one stage they thought she might have till the scan showed one baby and my son was disappointed he was getting used to the idea of twins

Isn't it funny how they prefer these utensils. My GD loves to bake she helped me make scrambled egg this morning she had to whisk the egg most of which ended up on the worktop :-)
