My weight seems to be stuck at a certain point

I told my doctor last week, I seemed to have reached an equilibrium ....... up a lb, down a lb repeatedly

he agreed.

I'm trying to increase the amount I walk to see if that can help

However ..........

I'm the same weight today that I was when I saw him last week ............. it's been

up a lb, down a lb, up a lb, down .....................

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 31 Jul 2013 21:27

You're very welcome to it Dea............ <3

Sylvs, I'm walking a heck of a lot more than I used to, but I think that I too have reached an equilibrium. Hey Ho.......

OH spoke to his Dad who is adamant that as long as he can cope and help her to the loo there will be no carers.

I spent some time with his Mum (she was in bed where she spends most of the day not even a tv to pass the time) and she kept saying she wishes she was "gone".

At that point I tried to point out that she has a lot to be thankful for and that I wished my Mum was still here, that if she didn't take her meds they wouldn't so her any good etc etc.

She told me I was a "cheeky bu***r" (smiling as she said it) we have always been able to say anything to each other and not fall out if either of us thinks the other has overstepped the mark we simply say so :-)

Oh and siblings have given up any hope of getting her out of the house now, not been out for at least a couple of years - lost her confidence when she had a fall.

Sometimes when my boys have phoned (especially the one with the girls) she has put them off visiting. I really don't know what the answer is :-(

Aw Linds, that's sad to think that she feels that way.

I guess there is little you can do?

Good morning all..and thank you for the porridge Dea :-D

I have been up for nearly two hours but had to take OH for his annual bloods - including a fasting test about 7.30am. We have a 'walk-in' area where you can just go as and when. Usually, at that time it's not too busy but there were a few there this morning.

Plus, we have extensive sewer works going on further down our main road which causes a build up of traffic.

Linds, it may be time for your OH to go over his father's head and ask the doctor for advice. If his father were to be taken ill, who would care for his wife then? There are ways and means of getting round it - honest injun! Meanwhile ((hugs)) for what is an unenviable situation....... <3

Off for a swift catch up on here and then some housework....... ;-)

Gee

Gee Report 1 Aug 2013 17:29

Ey Up~~~~~

I did grab those eggs Dea, on my way out to work <3

It's been really hot today and I was met coming out of work to a mass of flying ants.........big buggers they were :-0

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 1 Aug 2013 18:26

I hate flying ants Gins.......I can remember, many years ago, going up to the bedroom and the window looked like a lace curtain.....it was absolutely heaving with the things.

Shudders......yuk yuk yuk

Very busy morning but went for a nice walk along the canal bank.......we go as soon as OH's meds kick in, even if it means me 'downing tools' to do so.

Came back and finished off and then washed out the bins 'cos it's 'binday'.

Spent all afternoon upstairs on the desktop playing around with things to do with the Wedding Fair we are having later in the year. Quite enjoyed it really - rfound it rather theraputic and, at least I was sitting down!! :-D

Gee

Gee Report 1 Aug 2013 18:37

You wash your bins? We have a man who does that......

Flying ants :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0

Linda

Linda Report 1 Aug 2013 20:11

Whew been one of those days non stop :-)

Thanks everyone for your comments and hugs.

S-I-L is a nurse and is in almost constant touch with the doctor. M-I-L won't let anyone else help other than her daughter and her granddaughter (SIL's daughter)
She won't phone either of her sons its poor M who gets it all and she has ME.

The Dr is very good (has been out to the house a lot) but if she isn't taking her meds it becomes a vicious circle he is now looking at different meds etc. I am afraid it is going to be a long haul to get anything worked out.

They are both in their early 80's married for 63 years.

The thing is her personality can change almost Jeckyll and Hyde and she is depressed who wouldn't be not been over the doorstep in nearly 2 years.

Plan now is for a meeting of the siblings to try and make a plan if you know what I mean :-(

Linda

Hi all
xxx

another sunny day ...........

There was RAIN last night, but it didn't start until after midnight ................ so the whole month of July is now officially recorded as a record low precipitation. The first time that the official weather station at the Airport has recorded 0 mm in July.

I did have a record of 0 mm for a July in the mid-80's at the university weather station .............. but that wasn't "official".

July usually gets between a "trace" and 5 mm.

Everything looked and smelled so fresh this morning :-D

There was only a slight dampness on the road at about 6 am to show there had been any rain.

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 1 Aug 2013 21:54

It takes all of a couple of bowls of hot bleach water and an old mop!

Pristine they is now!!

Hope the meeting with the siblings comes up with some good ideas Linds.
