Good morning all and thank you for that wonderful spread Persie.

I am just browsing around the table and several things have caught my eye. I definitely have to try some of Ramsay's bacon I think. I've also spotted the orange meringues and dark chocolate mousse........O dear.....so many good things. :-D

Overcast and cool this morning - wonderful :-D :-D

Off for a browse before I go you-know-where...... ;-)

Mornin all~~~~~~

Pers, I love breakfast: Full vegetarian breakfast- Fried eggs, beans, fried mushrooms, grilled tomato, tattie scone & our own Glamorgan Sausage (that's cheese, right?)

Thank you :-D

Dea, if they still have the same mattresses when you were there, I reckon they wouldn't have a 5 star status

Linds, we are going to Brussles mid Sept and are going to Bruges for a day or two. I want to go up the clock tower and take a horse drawn carriage around the town and a trip on the water

Dea

Dea Report 21 Jul 2013 11:41

I am quite sure that they will not have the same mattress now - It was MANY years ago !!!

It certainly looks like you will have a lovely few days planned. :-D

Note to self " - I really MUST renew my passport - I do miss all my 'travelling' :-(

Hi all, hope you are coping with the heat :-)

Like Persie it is freezing here today, layers of blankets and it just drizzled and drizzled and drizzled.

Spent my day today shopping then making cupcakes for a morning tea at work, that would be okay but they had to be egg free due to someone's allergies...I found a recipe on the internet, they look ok, bit to rough to ice so I will have to dust them with icing sugar and that will have to do.

Not a very exciting weekend, always am amazed how much washing one man and one small girl make...never seems to end!

Of course my rellies who also came from Glasgow (Persie maybe we are related, some of my lot even travelled and stayed in NZ! ) would have been the size of houses if they had eaten all that breakfast!

Hope you all have a good day, <3 <3 <3 ;-)

With Xmas muffins Gracie I put a star or Christmas tree stencil on top and shake the icing sugar around so they are patterned. Shaped cookie cutters work well.

Persie

Oh you have Scottish roots :-D To date going back about 200 years my lot didn't go very far Glasgow and Fife.

I will have a taster of some of that lovely food - champit tatties - years since I've heard that :-) Will just nibble then I have to go and start getting the food for the bbq ready.

Gins your break sound fab :-)

Dea are you doing your bbq today? Hope you feel better <3 <3

Cynthia glad you are not melting today :-)

Gracie you could pipe buttercream icing on your cakes you can buy it in cans (like an aerosol) all ready to pipe and it is delicious. I see you have roots in Glasgow also. It's a true saying that it's a small world :-D

Linda,
Well yes he was born in Scotland but his Da was Irish.
His wife was the real Scotswoman born from a long Scots ancestry through both her parents.

On t'other side my Dad's mother was a Turnbull. My dad said when she and her sister got together they would talk in Scottish dialect and the kids wouldn't know half of what they were talking about.

Gee Report 21 Jul 2013 14:36

Oooh, Ive not that icing in a can. What make is it Linds?

Had a little sleep for an hour and dreamed; Dad and Josie were in hospital and the doc was telling me to get Josie to eat or she could die.

In my dream, I was thinking she is already dead, but I didn't want to upset the doc my telling her.....how odd!

Last night when I went out the bin, I found a baby wood pigeon, big bugger but defo a baby, he had his birth fluff and couldn't fly

He was walking towards the road, so I picked him up and took him to our back garden. It's safer there and it is risen from the ground so I hope his mom and dad will see him

Gracie, it's quite cool here today 20c and we had some rain overnight

He's just popped out from the shrubs and had a little squeak...poor thing

No Linds - No BBQ - too cold and wet today so we had some lovely home-cooked mince and dumplings !! - A proper piping hot 'winters day meal' !!! ;-) :-D :-D

OH's gt. grandfather came from Glasgow but his father was from Dysart........I think we are all related you know!!!

I've not seen that piped buttercream either.......sounds almost foolproof - which is what I need.

I have some very weird dreams Gins............and am glad when I've 'shaken' them off.

Much pleasanter today........I can cope with this.

Gee

Gee Report 21 Jul 2013 18:33
